A page to connect WGH Panther Band Alumni and to produce an archive of band materials for a future collection at the Trumbull County Historical Society. Plans for a new permanent exhibit and a reunion on the WGH Panther Marching Band are underway, with a focus on the “The Robert Fleming Era” under Director Robert Fleming and Assistant Director Clinton Foster. The exhibit will be displayed in a new expansion of the Trumbull County Historical Society, Warren, Ohio, set for completion in 2023. The exhibit, approved by Trumbull County Historical Society Executive Director Meghan Reed, will include a WGH band alumni reception, following the unveiling and presentation program of the new exhibit at TCHS Morgan History Center 328 Mahoning Ave., NW, Warren, Ohio 44483. We are searching for videos, photos or other artifacts to be donated to TCHS. In 2023, individuals and band alumni will be encouraged to contribute to TCHS to help fund the exhibit when the project nears completion. Process for donations:

The WGH Panther Band Historical Association dedicated this plaque at the new Robert E. Fleming Memorial Band Shell during halftime on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026. The plaque sits atop a beautiful, polished black granite stand, angled like a music stand. Thank you to President Bill Kush '71, Past President Tony Marshalek '64, Past Founding President Jim Brodell '70, and the entire monument committee for planning and erecting this beautiful memorial to inspire young student musicians to carry on the WGH band's proud legacy.

About 100 WGH band alumni came from near and far to attend the reception for the dedication of the Fleming monument! A great tailgate-style hot buffet was served on that cool September evening on the terrace overlooking Mollenkopf field. Fun to see familiar faces and catch up with long-time Panther band friends!

At halftime, a video tribute to former director Robert Fleming played on the Jumbotron. Then, as a 1963 recording of the band's "Fanfare" filled the stadium with heralding trumpets and a drumroll, Tony Marshalek '64, Bill Kush '71, and Jim Brodell '70 waited through a rousing countdown before lifting a red cloth to reveal an elegant, polished black granite monument. Alumni watching from the terrace, the current Raider band, and the stadium crowd cheered as the historic plaque honoring Fleming was unveiled.
WGH Band Historical Association designed, funded, and erected this elegant structure in honor of our esteemed director. Take a look at this elegant, polished black granite monument gleaming in the sunlight that the WGH Band Historic Association arranged to have designed, funded, and erected in front of the new Band Shell in honor of our director, Robert Fleming, after whom the Band Shell is named.

WGH Band Alumni held a dedication ceremony for a beautiful monument honoring Robert Fleming in front of the new Band Shell during halftime at Mollenkopf Stadium on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026! Thank you to the 100+ Panther Band alumni who traveled from near and far to join us for a fun reunion reception on the terrace overlooking the field at the Student Wellness Center.
