TWO MORE! We’re celebrating Bethlehem Covenant Church of Waverly, NE and Messiah - Lincoln, NE today! They've both taken the step to support vulnerable children and families by joining Families Together and using the CarePortal platform!

Church partners play a vital role in this ministry by responding to real needs with practical help that strengthens families and helps keep kids safe and connected.

Meet Sarah Harrison | Training & Placement Supervisor | 6 years at CH

🧡 We all agree with Emma who says, “Sarah is a tremendous asset to Christian Heritage. Her experience in child welfare is invaluable, but even more impactful is her genuine love and desire to serve children and families. Each day, Sarah demonstrates her commitment to Christian Heritage and the mission we carry out. She truly lives out our guiding principles, and I am grateful to serve alongside her.”

✨ Sarah comes to CH with experience in foster care after doing a college internship and her first position through a different agency. She loved it, but was drawn to CH because her faith and calling to the foster care field could merge together as one—making her position feel more like a mission, not just a job.

🥛 When not at work, her cup is filled by:
• Quality time with people. She loves doing life with others.
• Church. She loves teaching 3-6 year olds and deepening her personal walk with Jesus through prayer and reflection.
• "Grandma" Hobbies. She loves to recharge crocheting, doing puzzles, and reading and watching mystery thrillers.

👉 Sarah loves the CH mission because we believe and live out the truth that relationships bring healing to those we serve. We know that positive connections change lives and that faith makes the impossible become possible for our families as they walk through really hard things.

This Foster Care Appreciation Month, we have been incredibly grateful for the generous community partners who poured into our foster families by donating thoughtful items and gifts. Their kindness reminds our foster parents that they are seen, valued, and supported as they open their hearts and homes to vulnerable children every day. 🧡

Thank you to:
-Foster Heart + Hope for distributing the 100 Xander friends donated by a generous family foundation (they smell amazing!)
-Chick-fil-A (12310 West Dodge Rd, Omaha) and Chick-fil-A (4770 O St, Lincoln) for the meal vouchers

Meet Susan Riggs | Families Together Specialist | 3 years at CH

🧡 We all agree with Patti who says, “We are so lucky to have Susan Riggs as part of our Christian Heritage family for the past three years. From the moment she joined us, Susan has been the kind of person you can’t help but call a friend; her warmth and kindness make everyone feel immediately at ease. Beyond her incredible heart and compassion, Susan is an exceptionally gifted listener who truly cares about the people she serves. She brings her brilliant mind to her work every day, and her deep-seated passion for supporting children and families is an inspiration to us all. We are better for having her on our team!”

✨ Susan previously worked in the medical field and discovered how much she loves learning about people's stories and finding them support. After also working as a para in the Independence Academy, she knew she was meant for serving others which led her to Christian Heritage.

🥛 When not at work, her cup is filled by:
• Her family. She loves to spend time with her kids and grand kids and loves road tripping to visit them.
• Crafting. She loves sewing and creating!
• Spending time with her small group at church.

👉 Susan loves the CH mission because the people she works with keep her engaged in the CH mission and support her every step of the way. The families we serve inspire her, challenge her, and fill her with hope as they work hard to navigate their personal challenges.
