A new era at the Pat Tillman Foundation, anchored in the same mission Pat called us to: to unite and empower remarkable military service members, veterans, and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self.

Author, storyteller, and longtime supporter Jon Krakauer has helped carry forward Pat Tillman’s legacy for years, through his writing, advocacy, and his continued commitment to the mission of the Pat Tillman Foundation.

As the author of “Where Men Win Glory,” Jon helped bring greater understanding to Pat’s life, values, and service, capturing the complexity, conviction, and purpose that continue to inspire so many today.

Beyond the page, Jon has remained deeply connected to the foundation and plays an important role in our scholar selection process, helping identify the next generation of leaders committed to service beyond self.

As final selection for the 2026 Tillman Scholar class approaches, we’re grateful for supporters like Jon who continue investing in the future of this community and the values Pat stood for. 🇺🇸

🎥 Hear Jon reflect on Pat’s legacy, his connection to the foundation, and why this mission continues to matter.

Tillman Tuesday 🎻 Meet Dr. Christina Ebersohl-Van Scyoc, a 2022 Tillman Scholar whose work bridges military service, music, and cultural preservation.

After serving as a U.S. Army Arabic linguist, Christina’s unexpected encounter with Egyptian music sparked years of research, international performance, and scholarship dedicated to amplifying voices too often unheard beyond Egypt’s borders. Through her work as a violist, researcher, and author, she is preserving artistic legacies and fostering cross-cultural connection through storytelling and music.

Her latest album, releasing June 14, “Viola al-Mashura: The Enchanted Viola,” and her book, “Echoes of Cairo,” highlight the lives and works of Egyptian composers whose stories reflect resilience, innovation, and profound artistic vision.

“The support of the Pat Tillman Foundation made it possible to pursue projects dedicated not only to performance and scholarship, but also to preserving histories, documenting artistic legacies, and fostering connection across cultures through music and storytelling.”

This is what it looks like to lead with service beyond self. 🔗 Invest in Scholars like Christina: donate.ptf.org.
