Totally Unnecessary Drama Dept.

12 yo TB mare, Simply in Awe (Peanut) arrives. Not two minutes later, she slams into the hot wire, takes off like the sprinter she is, crashes thru the fence, then jumps over a ditch & then a row of blackberries but somehow in the pitch black darkness finds her way around our pond, thrashing through more blackberries & ends up in the big 35 acre pasture with 18 horses she's never seen before and spends the night there with them & no drama.

Peanut sure did a number on herself but luckily Dr Kendall Willson & Vet Tech Emily came to the rescue!! ❤️

Peanut should make a complete recovery but Sarah will have several months of intensive wound treatment ahead of her.

We now have 35 horses & a Nigerian goat named Sammy.

Introducing our two latest residents. Both are Thoroughbreds & will be trained by our Sanctuary Manager Sarah as project horses.

Meet Moro (Caught in the Dark)

Moro is a five year old roan gelding. Moro raced 8 times primarily at Del Mar & Santa Anita. He either came in last or was in the far back of the pack. His owner thus decided a new career was in order for this good looking & sound guy.

Moro is seeking a quarter ($40) half ($75) or full sponsorship ($150) a month.

Meet Atticus (unnamed by OM & out of Sparkle Shine)

Atticus is a three year old chestnut gelding with zero starts. He was in training at San Luis Rey Training Center & was slow as molasses. This absolute stunner will show us where his talents lie as a future show horse.

Atticus is sponsored by Board Director Giny Chandler.

We are so excited to welcome these two. Both are friendly & almost immediately settled into Sanctuary life. They are currently turned out with the minis, Dolly & Zeus.

Before Richard Rumsey & afterwards. We're looking forward to a number of future new projects with this guy at the Sanctuary. Meanwhile, Rich is volunteering for some beautification & clean-up along our fence lines.

Herd vaccinations with help from vet techs from the Milo Foundation & always a wonderful perk, farm fresh eggs. Plus our amazing farrier Russell Murphy & his dog Mabel. Russell is so good with our horses. Even our most difficult horse, Pony, loves him.
