We would like to take this opportunity to recognize our Executive Director, Doug Foster, recipient of this year's Pride of Ulster County award for his ongoing devotion and dedication to our community and our residents. Doug was introduced to community service from the day he was born, as his family was involved in Fire and EMS service in the Town of Plattekill. He started his volunteer service as a junior member and quickly began absorbing as much knowledge as he could through various mentors in the agencies he was involved in, never wavering in his constant desire to ensure giving all he could to his community. Doug also serves as Chief of Plattekill Fire and is a New York State Fire Instructor.

He has dedicated many hours to his own education, compassion and commitment to every endeavor he has undertaken. He has devoted his time as a volunteer as well as his professional work life to training, education, and obtaining knowledge that benefits those with which he works, and those in the community he serves.

Congratulations, Doug, very well deserved!

Today, we remember the people we lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger to help others. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families and communities forever changed that day. We will keep them, their families, and everyone impacted by this tragedy in our hearts.

It is with tremendous sadness that we share that our dedicated member and driver, Ken Bell, passed away last week.

Ken was so much more than a member of Wallkill Ambulance. He was a friend, a familiar face, and someone who gave so much of himself to our organization. His presence will be deeply missed by all of us.

We extend our deepest condolences to Ken’s family and all those who loved him. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.

Wallkill Ambulance had crews standing by at the New York Air Show this weekend. We were happy to work alongside and support our area agencies, Town of Montgomery Emergency Medical Services, Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services, Lenape Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Orange County Emergency Services- NY.

Thank you to all of the EMS professionals, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and event staff whose teamwork helped ensure a safe and successful weekend for everyone in attendance. We appreciate the opportunity to serve our community together.

The officers and members of Wallkill ambulance extend our thoughts and prayers to the members of the Coldenham Fire Department following last night’s devastating fire that caused significant damage to their fire station and destroyed several pieces of apparatus.

Please keep the members of the Coldenham Fire Department in your thoughts and prayers as they recover from this devastating incident.

Unit 650 assisted the Plattekill Fire Department at today’s MCI.

While 650 was operating as this incident unit 651 handled a call in district.
