Tax Aide Waldport has finished a great tax season!
A big thank you is owed to our dedicated volunteers and our host, Waldport Community Center. This year we helped over 325 taxpayers and secured over $335,000 in refunds for our community members.

Tax Aide Newport says thank you for a great re-opening, especially to our volunteer crew and our host the 60+ Center!
We were able to assist over 170 community members and secured over $170,000 in refunds for local residents.

Tax-Aide Lincoln City wishes to thank our community for a great tax season!
With the help of our volunteer team and our host Driftwood Public Library we were able to help more than 200 tax filers and secured over $225,000 in refunds for local folks.

😟😟 We are very sorry, but the AARP Tax-Aide Waldport site will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, April 9) due to unforeseen circumstances. Please come in on Saturday, the 11th, if you still need free help with your taxes…that will be our last day for this season.

Did you receive a K-1 Form this year? Those come from partnerships, S-Corporations and estates/trusts-generally entities which don't pay income tax directly but instead pass through income to owners or heirs/beneficiaries to report on their 1040 tax returns. We see these at our tax preparation sites, usually from investment partnerships or the estate of a deceased loved one. Unfortunately, we will be unable to prepare your tax return unless the K-1 form you receive has a very few specific items--we are not trained for more complex situations frequently seen on a K-1 form.
If you do receive a K-1 form this year, please call us ahead of time to discuss whether we can help you. If you need to work with a tax professional this year we want you to have as much time as possible to find that assistance!

Hello, Lincoln County Taxpayers! Did you buy a brand new car last year and take out a loan to pay for it? There is now a deduction available for up to $10,000 of interest paid on that loan.
There are some requirements and restrictions, though:
-it must be for personal use
-it has to have at least 2 wheels (I'm not kidding, but motorcycles DO qualify)
-it must weigh less than 15,000 lbs
-final assembly must occur in the USA
For 2025 lenders are not required to provide you a tax form showing the interest you paid (they will for 2026) so you'll have to reach out to them to get the amount. Give them a call or go online!
You will need the VIN # of the vehicle for two reasons:
-we have to put it on the tax return
-you'll need to verify the weight and final assembly requirements. You can go here to do that, and remember to bring that information with you when you come to see us:

Hello taxpayers! Tax preparation packets are now available to be picked up at the Waldport library or at the WaFd bank in Waldport. Our first day is Wednesday, February 4, helping with tax preparation at the community center in Waldport. See you soon!

Hello, Everyone! I just got my first tax document in the mail yesterday. It reminded me that I wanted to put some information up here on our page to make life easier for taxpayers and our preparers, too. Sometimes it's hard to know what information you need to bring to get your taxes done. So, a few pointers:
-Bring your statement from Social Security with the pink or blue boxes. You also get an official "letter" from SSA about your 2026 monthly payment after the cost of living adjustment (COLA). We don't need that one!
-Similarly, your home loan lender may send you a notice about your monthly payment due in 2026 due to escrow adjustments (your property tax or estimated homeowners insurance changed). We don't need that one either. Look for the one that says "Form 1098" somewhere near the top and be sure to bring that one!
-If you have any tax documents for a tax year other than 2025, put them in a separate pile organized by year. Bring each pile and we'll talk about what needs to be done with the other years.
-Hey, I know it's hard. When in doubt, bring it with you. Everything you bring goes back home with you so no problem on our end...haha
-Don't forget your photo ID for all filers and Social Security cards or ITIN notices for all filers and dependents. Yes, we might remember you (some of you are quite memorable!) but don't assume.
