A Message from Waldport Beachcomber Days
For nearly 70 years, Waldport Beachcomber Days has been a volunteer-driven tradition created to bring our community together.
For almost seven decades, the Waldport Beachcomber Days nonprofit and its volunteers organized and hosted the event that became a beloved Waldport tradition.
Because of the current circumstances, the official Waldport Beachcomber Days organization will not be hosting the event this year. This will mark the first summer in nearly 70 years that the Waldport Beachcomber Days nonprofit itself has not organized the event.
We understand another group has announced plans for an event and is referring to it as the 70th year. Their claim to be our successor is inaccurate, and the event is not being organized by the official Beachcomber Days nonprofit that historically hosted the event. We do sincerely hope the vendors, participants, and community members have a safe and enjoyable summer celebration.
The history of Beachcomber Days is important to those of us on this committee. Waldport Beachcomber Days is a nonprofit organization that has stewarded this community tradition for nearly 70 years, and the Waldport Beachcomber Days name and logo are federally registered trademarks representing that legacy.
While the official Waldport Beachcomber Days nonprofit will not be organizing the event this year, the nearly 70-year tradition created by generations of volunteers remains an important part of Waldport’s history. We remain proud of that history and grateful to everyone who has supported Beachcomber Days through the years.
Community traditions endure because of the people who believe in them, and we look forward to what the future may hold.
Thank you for being part of the Waldport Beachcomber Days story. Stay tuned for new and exciting events our organization will be bringing to the surrounding areas soon. We are still here with the same dedication we have been providing our community and will continue to do so going forward.
Sincerely,
Tammy Abele
Beachcomber Days
