The Waldport Public Library's 4th Annual Pollinator Day is around the corner on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 to 2 p.m. This is a family-friendly,free-entry event with many giveaways. Specialists studying the Oregon Spotted Butterfly, beekeepers with observation hives, Master Gardeners, environmental specialists, and environmental activist/author Carol Van Strum will be at this event. Dozens of people will be participating with tables of information, giveaways, observation hives, honey tasting, workshops, and music with the S.L.U.G.S. Be sure to look for face painting and cookie decorating. The Friends of the Waldport Public Library and Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay, Inc. are offering free books for kids, and the Friends will also have items available by donation to continue helping the Waldport Public Library's programs. The Waldport Library Garden Club will lead garden tours. Adult and youth volunteers have been working for months on the garden and in preparation for this very special day. There will be pollinator-friendly vendors. Their work includes original artwork, photography, birdhouses, fused-glass, jewelry, crocheted items, honey, soaps, and more. There isn't any electricity at the Seashore Joy Garden in downtown Waldport, so you may need cash for vendors. Food is grown at the Seashore Joy Garden, so we ask that you don't bring your dogs. Feel free to share the posters below. They are very special this year, as we reached out to adult and youth library patrons and asked for original artwork for the posters. Their work is amazing.

Our summer raffle ends this Friday, June 12th. Winners will be announced on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our book sale yesterday!! A little drizzle didn't stop us, and the books all survived the damp day.

We sold a LOT of books and movies and some puzzles, and made $$$$ for Waldport Public Library programs and services. Our Waldport Public Library Youth Programs is a big part of why we do all of this. We also buy books on CD and ebooks for people who don't do paper books.

Check us out next month, Wed July 1st. We have this outdoor event May-September, the first Wednesday of the month. You can always shop the used book shelf inside the library, I stock it several times a week.

Thanks for all the community support, we can't do it without all of you. We may be tiny, but we're mighty in spirit!

There's a lot going on next week at our friendly Waldport Public Library !

The Friends of the Waldport Public Library (FOWL) will hold their used book sale, on Wednesday June 3, in front of the library, from 11-2. First Wednesday of the month, May-September.

The annual FOWL meeting is Thursday June 4, from 4 - 5 pm. The public is always welcome. Come see what we do and maybe find a,way to get involved!

Saturday is our last author talk for a few months. Come meet Ned Hickson, books will be available for sale.

We have another raffle up right now, winners will be drawn on Saturday June 12. Thanks to everyone who donates and buys tickets! The $$$ is for a great cause.

If you haven't joined the Friends, please consider a membership. For $5 or $10 you can get involved with a wonderful organization to does so much for our community!

Thanks to all our generous library lovers, we have enough items for a summer raffle! Tickets are $1 each or $6 for $5, and you choose the item(s) you want.

Raffle runs Friday May 29 - Friday June 12. Winners drawn on Saturday June 13.

All items will be on display at the Waldport Public Library , and you can buy tickets there also.
