When a child is exposed to something new, a world of possibilities opens before them.
This week, our 5th-grade students from Monument Academy stepped onto the grounds of Summerhill Polo Farm for an experience that many never thought would be possible.
For the past five years, the District Cup DC community has partnered with us to create opportunities that challenge expectations and expand horizons. Through hands-on instruction from former U.S. professional polo player and umpire Charlie Muldoon, students learned about a sport often associated with privilege and exclusivity.
But this experience was about much more than polo.
It was about showing young people that they belong in every room, on every field, and in every opportunity that life has to offer.
When we expose students to new environments, new mentors, and new possibilities, we help them dream bigger about their future.
As we prepare for District Cup DC this Saturday, we celebrate the partnerships that make these experiences possible and invite our community to join us in supporting the next generation of leaders.
Together, we are creating pathways, building confidence, and changing lives.
