Rancocas Conservancy is a land trust which buys and preserves properties along the Rancocas and its tributaries.

Our mission is to preserve, protect, and enhance the ecological and cultural integrity of the Rancocas Creek watershed. The Rancocas Conservancy has been a significant actor in the promotion of land preservation and water quality protection throughout the Rancocas Creek Watershed. As a result, the Conservancy is now recognized as the leading land trust in the Watershed, responsible for the permanent preservation of more than 2000 acres of land, an expansion of open space planning in the region and the education of thousands of residents on the importance of environmental protection.

Seven Weekend Wanderers joined Rancocas Conservancy prez Rick Brown (subbing for Dr. Emile DeVito) for a walk at the Conservancy's Wurst Preserve in Medford Township. We went around the pond and then to an adjacent section that Dr. DeVito believes is a paleo dune, an ancient wind formed sand deposit that is prime habitat for the threatened Northern Pine Snake and the endangered Corn Snake. Fascinating.
Our next Weekend Walk will be at Rancocas Conservancy Beechwoods Preserve in Pemberton Boro on Saturday, November 14 at 10am. Hope to see you there.

Trail work at Rancocas Conservancy Beechwoods Preserve in Pemberton Boro. We chopped up a tree fallen across the trail, removed debris from the recent storms and w**d whacked invasive plants.
