The 20th annual Pickerel Tournament is in the books! We want to thank everyone who came out to fish this year’s event as well as friends and family who came out to see weigh in!

This year we had a total of 79 Anglers hit the waters of the Pine Barrens and all over south Jersey! Out of the 79 anglers, 11 were youth, whom all walked away with a rod/reel and hat!

The competition was impressive this year with lots of fish hitting the scales and a lot of quality fish.

Here is the Top 3 Total Bags (3 combined fish) from winning team
1. Dave Andrews and Rich Carpenter : 8.2 LBS
2. Chuck Horner and Cassie Conte : 8.0 LBS
3. Muskrat and Dylan Andrews : 7.9 LBs

Top 3 Lunker Fish
1. Dave Andrews with a 3.6 LB
2. Mike Womack with a 3.5 LB
3. Ryan Holbrook (Muskrat) with a 3.4LB

Honorable mention, we had a youth yesterday catch an absolute stud, but unfortunately the fish didn’t make it before weigh in. That fish would have won Lunker at an impressive 3.8LBs . The kid did everything right and had a live well but some times it just happens. The kid was still happy to be out fishing and was excited to go home and learn how to clean and cook it so it didn’t go to waste. He will also be getting a cooler built live well from one of our club members who is upgrading their tournament live well soon.

Once again thank you guys all for coming out and making this tournament year after year such a success and making what started off as a small bragging right tournament, to what I like to call it now “The White Marlin Open of the Pines”

Pickerel Tournament sign ups will being tonight at 5:00pm at our clubhouse located at 62 Bozarthtown Road, Tabernacle NJ 08088. Sign ups will go on until 10:00pm. Reminder there is no sign ups tomorrow on day of event so today is your last chance to get signed up!

If you can’t make it to the club house tonight, contact Ryan Holbrook on his cell: 609-923-0492. You can Venmo your entry and lunker entry but please put your name and if your in lunker or not as the memo.

Tomorrow weigh ins being at 4:00pm. Do Not be late. Late to weigh in results in DQ!

Everyone says they have a spot for big pickerel… well it’s time to see how great them spots are!

This Saturday, our annual Pickerel Tournament is being held! Unlike the normal cold windy days that we have fished the last couple years, this year looks to be a beautiful one with warm temperatures all day!

Fish off land or boat on any body of water you please!
$15.00 Entry per person. An additional $5.00 per person to be entered into the Lunker 50/50 Pool!

Kids ages 15 and under are free Entry (Lunker 50/50 not included) with one paid adult entry!

In person registration will begin at 5:00pm Friday night until 10:00pm at the our clubhouse.

For those who can’t make it Friday, and would like to register, you can sign up now by contacting Ryan Holbrook. His number is 609-923-0492. Digital payment such as Venmo is accepted for early sign ups.

Winner is heaviest bag of 3 Fish Alive. Lunker 50/50 is paid to single heaviest fish of those who enter the pool.

Weigh in on Saturday begins at 4:00pm sharp at the clubhouse!

“The White Marlin Open of The Pines” is now set for April 4th, 2026! Stay tuned for more information on what might just be the biggest Pickerel Tournament in South Jersey, Possibly New Jersey. We been close to breaking 100 registered anglers, will this be the year we finally do it? Come sign up on April 3rd and let’s make it happen!

Well 2025 Deer Week is officially over. We ended the week with 4 on the pole but started many more which just didn’t go our way. It was a very exciting week, with many guests coming to hunt with the club this year, compared to prior years, all of which already talking about next years hunt. Lots of laughs and memories were made, and everyone made it home safe which is the most important part.

The 2025/2026 Hunting Season is finally here, the Members of Moore Deer Club would like to wish all of our brothers and sisters of the outdoors who are heading out into the woods for opening day or at any time during the season, a safe and memorable hunt.

With the tragic events that have unfolded this week, opening day couldn’t have started at a better time. When you walk into the woods, Mother Nature doesn’t care about politics, race, gender, etc… Doesn’t Matter the method of kill, or “Should have let it grow another year” We are all one. Embrace your fellow sportsman this year, make memories, introduce this great thing we all love to someone new. I hope as Sportsman, this year we all can think about that. Find Peace, Enjoy the Moments, and Have a Safe Season.

September 6th, we are hosting our 1st annual Horseshoe Tournament! We might not be having a pig roost that day anymore but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end! Grab a partner and come on out for some good times throwing shoes. $50.00 per team, Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. We have 4 Pits all with lighting! Sign ups beginning at 2:30PM with first games starting at 4PM! Double Elimination.
