For nearly 80 years, Stoneleigh was the home of the Haas family, which donated the property to Natural Lands in 2016 so that it would remain preserved forever. The property includes stately trees, winding pathways, and lush gardens that were designed by a number of notable landscape architects over the past century—including the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the famed Frederick Law Olmsted. Stoneleigh is owned and managed by non-profit conservation organization Natural Lands. Learn more at www.natlands.org.

The terrace of the Main House is a perfect spot to sit and admire the view. The grassy expanse in front of the Main House is known as the Great Lawn.

This name comes from its creator, the Olmsted Brothers, who designed the gently sloping vista and tall tree line along the edge of County Line Road.

Stop by and sit a while. October is the perfect time to appreciate the fall color. 🪑🍂

Put that leaf blower away! It's the easiest chore you'll do this fall.

Worried about your yard looking messy? Rake the leaves into your garden beds or along the edge of your property. You'll be creating the cozy winter habitat needed by the critters that call your backyard home.

After years of planning, designing, and building, we are thrilled to unveil our incredible new greenhouse!

This modern and expanded greenhouse will allow us to grow more plants for our gardens as well as expanded offerings for our annual Native Plant Sale.

Something spooky is coming to Stoneleigh! Join us on Friday, October 30th to experience a classic movie from the silent film era in a completely new way.

Award-winning organist Peter Krasinski will bring the film to life with his energetic musical interpretation of the 1925 classic "The Phantom of the Opera."

To complete the movie theatre experience, guests will enjoy freshly popped popcorn, a candy bar, and b**r and w**e at the bar. 🍿

Presented in collaboration with the Organ Historical Society. This event is intended for adults 18 and over.

Have you ever wondered about the dog statue along the path in the meadow?

It marks the burial site of German Shepherds that once lived at Stoneleigh. The Haas family kept several dogs that served as both pets and guard dogs for their home over the years.

Upon their passing, these four-legged friends were lovingly buried on the grounds of Stoneleigh.

Natural Lands is proud to partner with Riverbend Environmental Education Center to bring a new family program to Stoneleigh this fall. 🍁

Budding Naturalists is a nature-based program designed for our littlest explorers, ages 2-5, and their caregivers. Each week, children explore nature through a story, art, outdoor activities, and a hike. Classes are hosted at Natural Lands' Stoneleigh: a natural garden and Saunders Woods Preserve.

Join us on Wednesday mornings or Thursday afternoons in the garden beginning October 14th. Please visit Riverbend's website to register.
