WELCOME BACK TO MANSION MONDAYS: Have you noticed that the trees are changing color in the Willows Park? There is one tree in particular at the bottom of the Mansion's hill that always seems to change color before the rest.

We can't wait to see the beautiful red and orange hues that will be surrounding the Willows Mansion in just a week or two.

Our annual Main Line Estates tour with Chanticleer Garden and Ardrossan Manor was a success! We were grateful that so many were interested in the tour this year, and happy to share more about these three wonderful historic properties.

The Willows Mansion is getting spooky this year! 🎃

Have you ever wondered what a paranormal investigation is like? Have a curious mind and are looking for an alternative way to explore history? Join us on Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 PM to experience the Willows Mansion through a paranormal investigation...

After a brief introduction to equipment and techniques used today, the remainder of the night will be spent participating in an active investigation. No experience is needed. This investigation will be guided by an experienced investigator with all equipment provided.

What a gorgeous evening we had on Saturday night...

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our annual Twilight on the Terrace Fall Fundraiser. The weather was in our favor, allowing us to enjoy excellent music, food, and conversation inside and outside the Willows Mansion.

TREE THURSDAY🌳: This week’s tree is the Sourwood(Oxydendrum Arboreum). The nectar from the flowers on the tree can be used to make honey. The Sourwood used to be used as a source of medicine.

WELCOME BACK TO MANSION MONDAYS: Did you know about the bar in the basement? WPP executive director Will gets a range of surprised reactions whenever he asks that.

During the brief time that the Neuman family owned the Willows Mansion from 1934 to 1936, they added a bar entertainment area to the building's basement. It was equipped with a round bar top counter & stools, a full-service bartender area, sink, and cooler, as well as a curved alcove with glass tube lighting where the family would hire a band to perform during functions.

How cool is that?

It's certainly a beloved feature of the house among the staff and those who learn about the Mansion's history. The idea has been suggested to renovate the bar at some point in the future to return it to its former glory, although no plans have been initiated at this point in time (keep reading to learn more about why that might be!)

Are you as excited about this cool feature and renovation idea as we are? This fall, beginning at our annual Fall Fundraiser on October 10th we will actually be providing an opportunity for Mansion attendees and other Mansion supporters to learn more and contribute toward a basement improvement campaign. We are excited about the cool bar area just like anyone else is, but unfortunately the basement of the Mansion is in need of some urgent waterproofing upgrades that not only hinder our ability to move forward with any "fun" bar renovation goals, but also threaten existing improvements such as our newly installed air conditioning system and steam boiler.
