The American Tinnitus Association is entering its most ambitious chapter in 55 years of advancing tinnitus research and patient care. Announcing its largest-ever research investment, the launch of an online professional education platform, new senior scientific leadership in Hannah Glick, PhD, AuD, CCC-A, and the appointment of Texas Roadhouse Chief Communications Officer Travis Doster to its board of directors.

Tens of millions of Americans live with constant ringing, buzzing, or roaring in their ears. For most of them, the search for answers feels lonely.

We exist to change that.

Since 1971, the American Tinnitus Association has been the longest serving national public charity focused exclusively on the people behind that sound. Our latest Impact at a Glance shows what that looks like in real numbers:

More than 75,000 patients, providers, and advocates in our community.

Over 600 free advisor consultations every year, now offered in Spanish.

$550,000 committed to research this year, our largest investment in 55 years.

29 support groups where people go from "barely surviving" to actually thriving.
No one should have to navigate tinnitus alone. With you, they don't have to.
See the full picture of what we built together this year.

Five years ago, Kent Taylor, founder of and a man deeply committed to everyone around him, left behind a legacy that has only grown since. His son Max is 30 now, and the chapter he is writing honors his father in ways neither of them could have imagined.

Max sat down with ATA to reflect on five years of loss, growth, hard-earned perspective, and what his fatherโ€™s struggle with tinnitus has to teach us about community, compassion, and the courage to ask for help. The conversation is candid, warm, and deeply human.

"Stars in my ears." That's how a 4-year-old described his tinnitus to Dr. Gail Whitelaw, a vivid reminder that the condition doesn't only affect adults.

Today is World Hearing Day, and ATA is joining in shining a spotlight on children's hearing health. It's estimated that 10โ€“15% of children live with tinnitus. Many never say anything, not because it doesn't bother them, but because no one has asked.

Today, Texas Roadhouse unveiled that the February 2 dine-to-donate fundraiser raised a record-breaking $๐Ÿญ.๐Ÿญ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป for the American Tinnitus Association.

Roadie Nation, the people of Texas Roadhouse , Bubba's 33 and Jaggers Restaurant , is a community unlike any other. They are a force honoring their legendary Founder Kent Taylor, who led by putting the individual first and always supporting the community. Kent also lived with severe tinnitus, so Roadie Nation understands the weight of this complex condition.

This powerful partnership extends to every person touched by tinnitus, whether they are newly diagnosed, long suffering, or somewhere in between. It also helps others avoid tinnitus through raised awareness.

As the nationโ€™s oldest public charity dedicated exclusively to tinnitus patient care and research, we are deeply honored to lead the charge, funding innovative research that advances what science knows about this complex condition, helping patients and families navigate a path that is too often unclear, and educating providers on evidence-based care that makes a real difference in peopleโ€™s lives.

To Roadie Nation, to every employee and guest who dined with purpose on February 2, we thank you! You are part of transforming the world of tinnitus.

Ever wonder why tinnitus runs in families or why its impact varies so dramatically between individuals? The answers might be in our genes.

Dr. Christopher Cederroth (Karolinska Institute/University of Tรผbingen) and Dr. Jose Antonio Lopez-Escamez (University of Granada/University of Sydney) have spent decades pursuing those questions. What they've discovered is transforming our understanding of severe tinnitus and paving the way to more individualized care.

They're discussing what genetic research reveals about severe tinnitus, why it often clusters in families, and its surprising connection to sound hypersensitivity. This is science that moves us closer to treatments tailored to each person's unique experience.

If you're curious about what makes tinnitus different for everyone and what that means for the future of treatment, this conversation is for you.
