Dear Families,

As of 1:00 PM today, we anticipate reopening Childcare Resources School on Wednesday, November4th. However, we will continue to closely monitor weather conditions, and this plan may change as the situation develops.

Additionally, if weather conditions deteriorate throughout the day tomorrow, we may need to close early. We will communicate any changes or early dismissal decisions through email and Brightwheel as promptly as possible.

We ask that families please use their best judgment regarding attendance tomorrow, keeping in mind that safety must always come first. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our children, families, and staff.

As Halloween weekend approaches, we’re sharing a few simple safety tips from HealthyChildren.org to help families have a fun and safe weekend!

Choose costumes that fit well and don’t block vision.

Add reflective tape or glow sticks to make children more visible at night.

Stay on sidewalks and cross streets at corners.

Check all treats before enjoying them.

The impact of the early years lasts a lifetime.

What an honor this week to have our Executive Director, Shannon McGuire Bowman, represent Childcare Resources and Indian River County as a speaker on the Florida Chamber Foundation’s "Driving Better Early Learning Outcomes in Florida" panel.

Shannon had the opportunity to share our community’s early learning landscape and talk about how we can turn what we’ve learned into meaningful action for children, families, educators, and our community.

Real change happens when we come together, share ideas, learn from one another, and work toward solutions. We’re grateful to be part of this important conversation and excited about what’s possible when communities come together to create a stronger future for Florida’s youngest learners.

So much to learn, so much work to do, and so much potential to make a difference.

🎃 A little Halloween creativity goes a long way! 👻

Our program students have been busy this week creating all kinds of Halloween-inspired art, from cutting and assembling their own jack-o’-lanterns to making Q-tip skeletons and plenty of spooky creations in between!

And while these projects are full of Halloween fun, they’re also helping children build important skills along the way. Cutting and gluing strengthen fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Creating patterns, shapes and designs encourages problem-solving and early math concepts. And choosing colors, arranging materials and bringing their own ideas to life supports creativity, confidence and self-expression.
