Since 2008, the Shining Light Garden Foundation, a non-profit organization, has been growing fresh vegetables to help feed the homeless, hungry and forgotten. Our focus is strictly on growing fresh produce and giving it to the needy for God’s glory. This ministry has distributed thousands of bushels of fresh produce to those in need in our community in the last six months. Flowers for the hospice

program. All of the vegetables grown by The Shining Light Garden Foundation are given away, for free. We believe it is God’s vision to join together in unity, with the body of Christ, to make an impact in our community and to show compassion for others as Jesus did. "Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in the power to act." Proverbs 3:27 (NIV)

God has blessed the ministry’s efforts and they now have more than 20 acres being farmed. How can you get involved? Your support improves the quality of life for hundreds of people in our community by enabling us to provide wholesome, nutritious, locally grown produce to families in need in Indian River County. You can volunteer your time in the following areas:
•Clearing Shrubs and Brush from the property recently donated
•Preparing the land for planting
•Picking Vegetables
•Boxing up Vegetables
•Delivery of Vegetables

Of course you can give financially as well. All funds raised for the ministry are used to purchase seeds, farm equipment, and capital improvements such as well and irrigation equipment – no one receives a salary. Donations can be made out to: Shining Light Garden Foundation 6865 33rd Ave, Vero Beach, Florida 32967. e-Mail: [email protected]

The senior class of John Paul II Catholic School in South Carolina chose the Garden as one of their graduation trip mission projects. The work accomplished in 2 hours time was an inspiration and a gift. Taking care of the fields after a harvest is serious work. Grateful for God’s blessing of their choice.

It all happens because of our volunteers, some of which can be counted on like clockwork. St. Augustine Episcopal Church is here twice each month. You’ll see Brenna, one of our seed whisperers, each and every Saturday. Come experience the joy that helping feed the hungry brings and add Shining Light to your calendar.
