“Retreat? Hell, We Just Got Here!”

Today, we remember the legacy of Marines who fought at the Battle of Belleau Wood during World War I, helping to cement the Corps' reputation as the world's premier fighting force.

During the intense battle, the 4th Marine Brigade, comprised of the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments, and the 6th Machine Gun Battalion, fought aggressively through the wheat fields and woodlands in France, helping to stop a major German advance toward Paris in 1918. The Battle of Belleau Wood became a major turning point for the Corps, providing Marines with experience in large scale operations.

Legend has it that Marines were later called Teufel Hunden ("Devil Dogs" in German) due to the relentless tenacity while taking enemy positions during the battle. Because of the Marines’ unwavering commitment, the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments were awarded the French Croix de Guerre, an award presented to individuals or units for acts of valor and bravery on the battlefield.

Semper Fidelis.

As you can see, he was engaging with the community and recruiter for more Marines and FMF Corpsman. If you know of any local Marines or FMF Corpsman, please have them contact us. We offer VSO services, as we are 1 of 2 Marine Corps League Detachments that have representatives for VA help. We also host the Marine Corps Ball.

We have 9 day's left before sponsorship closes for the upcoming 6th Annual Battle Of The Branches event! Over 30 local businesses have supported this event so far to improve our local veterans lives through the Blue Collar and Combat Boots Program. Many of the sponsors not only donated to this event, but are active members of the program that give back!

But, what is the Blue Collar and Combat Boots Program? How does it work? We will explain it you.

Step 1 - Contact- A veteran goes to Doyougivearuck.com and applies for home repair. They submits their DD-214, 3 month's of bank statements, and VA ID or Florida ID with Veteran displayed on it.

Step 2 - Distance, Direction, Description - a ? member is deployed to the veterans household. We check the problems, we take pictures, and videos.

Step 3 - On Line - After meeting with the veteran, we rally with The Home Depot where we conduct grant operations to cover the cost of materials. We then contact local contractors to get them directly into the fight. Permits are pulled if required and schedules are made.

Step 4 - Gain Fire Superiority - Project start dates involve heavy work and dedicated volunteers. We work with our local contractors to complete the mission at no cost to the veterans. No leans, no debts, just pure giving back.

Step 5 - Break Contact - Doyougivearuck is modeled like an Infantry fighting force. We hit our objective and keep moving onto the next objective. After projects are completed, if the veteran needs further assistance, we get the VA and other affiliates involved. Most other non-profit organizations provide mental health services or services to help veterans with benefits. We are focusing on services that directly impact veterans lives on a day to day basis. Home repairs, car repairs, & financial assistance.

Join our growing sponsor list and Blue Collar and Combat Boots Program. A proven program backed by licensed contractors to give back to our veterans in their desperate time of need. From roofs, A/C, panels, remodels, and more. We are the tip of the spear for our local veterans across the Treasure Coast in this fight to better veterans lives through meaningful impacts.
