📣🛶Free the Snake River! Join Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment in rallying for a free-flowing lower Snake River on Sept. 11 - 12 at Hells Gate State Park (Lewiston, ID)!

Last year’s flotilla was one of the biggest we’ve seen, with hundreds of advocates joining over the two days to gather in community, learn from the wisdom of Tribal leaders, and take meaningful action towards a restored lower Snake River.

This special two-day event will also feature on-land activities, including inspiring speakers, food, live music, an outdoor film screening of The River Remembers, Get Out the Vote activities, and more!

⛺️Campsites can be reserved in Hells Gate State Park
🛶 Watercrafts, like kayaks, paddle boards, and rafts, can be rented nearby

I share this conversation from 13 years ago between two of the people who most influenced my way of seeing the world in honor of them both. If anyone is unfamiliar with Wendell Berry, who passed away yesterday at the age of 92, I urge you to seek out his writings. The values he champions are precisely those that provide the sturdiest bulwark against the commodification of everything and everyone, a remedy for the disembodied, and the rebinding of our fragmented communities.

Moyers' (note the "s" - we are not related) recent passing was also a loss worth noting. Though we never met in person, we exchanged correspondence, mostly joking about the misidentification that so often occurred. More importantly, his interviews always pierced the veil of assumptions, penetrating and illuminating reality in fresh and necessary ways.

Here they are together with humor, insight, and conviction. We are all beneficiaries of their journeys.
