Open Space for Arts & Community is part of Folklife's Our Big Neighborhood, and they would love for you all to support their Blessing Bled Chimanga show this Thursday at 7:30pm on Vashon Island!

An internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean musician, singer, and songwriter, celebrated for his electrifying stage presence and remarkable talent as a multi-instrumentalist. A virtuoso on the marimba, drums, and vocals, Blessing seamlessly blends Afro-jazz, traditional Zimbabwean sounds, and contemporary rhythms to create music that resonates globally.

This performance will also feature Vashon guitarist Bruce Phares, so we hope to see you there at Open Space!

Tomorrow night is String and Shadow Puppet Theater’s performance of A Night at the Grand Opera. It’s a frenzied romp through one wild night in an old European opera house with giant puppets and zany costumes galore!

String and Shadow Puppet Theater’s mission is to create high-quality, accessible, all-ages theater that nurtures the imagination, sparks joy, and strengthens community through the expansive art forms of puppetry and storytelling.

This is an outdoor show, and chairs will not be provided -- please bring your own blanket or lawn chairs.

Established in 2025, Ghost Boat Theater is based on Vashon Island, Washington.
Ghost Boat Theater brings together theater and music to create rich and resonant artistic experiences that inspire conversation and reflection, building communion between theater makers and audiences on Vashon Island.
