This week 17 alumni are in Vail for Veterans Path to Success. Together they are redefining purpose through introspective work, sharing stories, learning together and discovering new connections. While acknowledging their "old stories" each veterans creates a powerful "new story" to guide them in being their best self. We're proud of the work they are doing for themselves!

The month of September we bring our Military Caregivers to Vail allowing them time to focus on themselves. After our Retreat two weeks ago, tonight we welcome our 12 Reunion Caregivers who will build upon the resilience, stress management and self-care skills previously learned. This week's workshop includes learning about emotional intelligence and letting go, plus there is time for the spa, a jeep tour, bonding, and nature and mountain exploration!

Today we honor and remember the brave heroes we lost 25 years ago during the 9/11 attacks on our nation.

We had a terrific welcome dinner with our Military Caregivers and are excited for them to focus on empowerment and resilience today. This afternoon is spa time, being in nature and exploring Vail!

Today we are excited to welcome 17 caregivers to our Military Caregiver Retreat this week! Through half-day workshops focused on resilience, stress management and self-care, these ladies have the opportunity connect, share stories, relax and spend time in nature. It's all about taking care of those who care for others!

Vail Veterans Program has been nominated for the Vail Daily’s Best Of Vail Valley 2026/27! We honored to be recognized for the work we do to help our nation’s wounded veterans and their families discover new abilities, build confidence and find hope and healing in the mountains.

Day two of Golf in the Rockies was action-packed! Thank you to trainers at Howard Head Sports Medicine for conducting morning warm up and strength exercises with our veterans, followed by golf coaching from Steadman Philippon Research Institute. Our heroes enjoyed 18 holes at Beaver Creek Golf Club, hosted by members and then took in the Bacon Brothers concert at VPAC!

Thank you to the Vail Golf Club for warmly welcoming and hosting our 20 wounded veterans for a spectacular start to Golf in the Rockies yesterday! This group bonded immediately and genuinely supports one another- we look forward to the rest of the week!

As the week comes to a close for our Family Support Program participants, their time together as families has been extra special. Black Mountain Ranch offers space to find peace, intention, and connection with one another while learning and participating in new adventures. We thank our veteran families for taking the time to focus on themselves this week. To the entire BMR team, thank you for creating a sanctuary that allows an experience unlike any other for our wounded veterans and their families to reconnect, heal and strengthen their bonds.

Our Family Support Program at Black Mountain Ranch is in full swing this week! Two alumni veteran families are taking part in authentic western adventures while connecting and being present in the moment. Whether learning to rope or drive cattle or sipping cowboy coffee and simply soaking in the extraordinary peaceful views, this high county experience soothes souls and reinvigorates the spirit. Special thanks to our program partners, Black Mountain Ranch, for providing this opportunity to our Nation’s Heroes!
