Day two of Golf in the Rockies was action-packed! Thank you to trainers at Howard Head Sports Medicine for conducting morning warm up and strength exercises with our veterans, followed by golf coaching from Steadman Philippon Research Institute. Our heroes enjoyed 18 holes at Beaver Creek Golf Club, hosted by members and then took in the Bacon Brothers concert at VPAC!

Thank you to the Vail Golf Club for warmly welcoming and hosting our 20 wounded veterans for a spectacular start to Golf in the Rockies yesterday! This group bonded immediately and genuinely supports one another- we look forward to the rest of the week!

As the week comes to a close for our Family Support Program participants, their time together as families has been extra special. Black Mountain Ranch offers space to find peace, intention, and connection with one another while learning and participating in new adventures. We thank our veteran families for taking the time to focus on themselves this week. To the entire BMR team, thank you for creating a sanctuary that allows an experience unlike any other for our wounded veterans and their families to reconnect, heal and strengthen their bonds.

Our Family Support Program at Black Mountain Ranch is in full swing this week! Two alumni veteran families are taking part in authentic western adventures while connecting and being present in the moment. Whether learning to rope or drive cattle or sipping cowboy coffee and simply soaking in the extraordinary peaceful views, this high county experience soothes souls and reinvigorates the spirit. Special thanks to our program partners, Black Mountain Ranch, for providing this opportunity to our Nation’s Heroes!

This week we were honored to host 18 wounded veterans, 17 spouses/ caregivers, 26 children and 3 military hospital staff for our Summer Family Program. Through activities like horseback riding, rock climbing, zip lining, fly fishing and whitewater rafting, our participants learned to build resilience and reconnect with family. We will miss everyone! Thank you to our donors, sponsors, outfitters, community partners and volunteers who help make our programs possible!

Our 2026 Summer Family Program families are embracing all that the Colorado Rockies have to offer—from casting a line while fly fishing and exploring scenic trails on horseback to soaring through a canyon on a zip line. Each new experience is an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen family bonds, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

It's inspiring to see these wounded veterans and their loved ones encouraging one another, sharing plenty of laughter, and making the most of every moment together. 🇺🇸❤️
