We are excited to be partnering once again with SavOn Convenience Stores and Maple Leaf Market for our Purple Ribbon Campaign during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For the next two weeks, you can purchase a ribbon at their stores for $1 – an easy way to support survivors and raise awareness while doing your everyday errands!

Proceeds from ribbons sold at stores in Madison County will also benefit Liberty Resources.

Thank you for joining us to stand with survivors, Munson! πŸ’œ

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and today is National Purple Day. πŸ’œ

Purple symbolizes courage, strength, hope, and solidarity. By wearing purple, Munson staff stand with survivors, honor lives lost to domestic violence, and raise awareness of its devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities.

Together, we can make a difference.

Thank you to YWCA Mohawk Valley for the vital work you do to support survivors and strengthen our community.

Our staff was hard at work today at offices, in shelters, in courts and police departments, and at child advocacy centers – from Utica to Rome, and from Herkimer to even Schenectady at a statewide annual meeting. It was a typical day delivering the life-changing and life-saving work we do. We wore our purple in solidarity with survivors alongside YWCAs and other agencies across the country in this annual day of awareness.

We greatly appreciate everyone who joined with us today. πŸ’œ

Thank you to our friends at Nye Volkswagen of Rome for not only taking part in Purple Thursday with us today, but also for being a Purple Ribbon site for Domestic Violence Awareness Month! (When you stop by to look at a new vehicle, you can purchase a ribbon to add to their display for just $1!)

We greatly appreciate their staff getting behind the cause and supporting us.

Good morning and welcome to πŸ’œ Purple Thursday πŸ’œ - a nationwide domestic violence awareness effort that serves as a sign of solidarity with victims and survivors. Purple symbolizes survival, courage, honor, and peace.

The team at Total Solutions – famously known for their red brand – stands with survivors today and welcomed some purple into their workday! A Managed Business IT Provider for over two decades, Total Solutions is a longtime supporter of YWCA MV and we send them immense gratitude for their partnership.

How are you going to Adopt-A-Family?!

Make a tradition of it, or a night of it! Many shoppers join up with a group of friends, family members, or co-workers to adopt a family (or multiple families) together and share the cost. This is a great way to spend time together while doing an impactful thing for individuals right in our community. Wish lists from survivors and their families include up to four items per member, with each item totaling $25 or less (around $100 per individual). Ages range from newborn and children, to teens and young adutls.

Share the cost.

Young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are too often left out of the conversation.

During , YWCAs across the country are creating space for youth leaders, survivors, and advocates to share their experiences and reimagine what prevention, justice, and healing can look like.

Join us October 20 at 3:00pm EST for clips from WATCH YOU RISE and a discussion with filmmaker Isabella Grace Cohn.

Make your signs. Grab your coats. Warm up your voices!

Next week we get together to take a stand against domestic violence in meaningful, mission-drive ways. If you've been thinking about coming and aren't sure... please show up. Listen to others, speak out yourself, reflect, meet our staff, and meet others who understand.

Share this with your circles. And we hope to see you there!
