Rising temperatures, unpredictable weather patterns, and expanded outdoor responsibilities have made environmental exposure a growing workers’ compensation concern. These risks are no longer seasonal or occasional — they are becoming year-round operational challenges that require structured prevention programs and clear protocols.
Heat Stress Prevention in a Warming Climate: Heat-related claims are increasing nationwide, and self-storage facilities — with large paved surfaces, metal buildings, and limited shade — can become heat traps during summer months. Even moderate outdoor tasks can quickly escalate into dangerous conditions.
