APAPA Albany Chapter Candidates Forum 2026 -Grand Success!

We are delighted to share that the APAPA Albany Chapter Candidates Forum 2026, held on Sunday, October 18, at the Clifton Park Senior Community Center, was a successful and meaningful community event!

The forum brought together candidates, community leaders, and residents for an engaging discussion on issues that matter to all of us.

As part of our commitment to nonpartisan civic engagement, APAPA invited more than 20 candidates from federal, state, county, and local offices across political parties. We sincerely appreciate the following six candidates who took time from their busy schedules to join us:

1. Ralph Ambrosio – U.S. Congress, NY-20
2. Devin R. Lander – NY State Senate, District 43
3. Frank A. Mauriello – Albany County Legislature
4. Anthony “Tony” Morelli – Clifton Park Town Supervisor
5. Chad M. Gregory – Saratoga County Supervisor, Clifton Park
6. Kate Hogan – NY State Supreme Court Justice candidate (special guest who shared brief remarks)

A special thank you to our outstanding moderator, Nancy Gort, for leading an informative and engaging discussion covering immigration, inflation, taxes, artificial intelligence, solar energy, I-87 traffic, and other important community issues.

Our heartfelt appreciation to our wonderful volunteers and organizing team! Thank you to Shreeya and Sinchana for beautifully singing the National Anthem; Victor Liu for leading the Pledge of Allegiance; Ruby Karn for the welcome remarks and moderator introduction; Raj Benki for introducing the candidates; and Fai Han for the closing remarks. Special thanks to our dedicated APAPA board members Uma, Yousaf, and Nony for their organizing support; Scott and the Chinese Community Center (CCC) for generously providing the audio system; and Dharani and Sri Kumar for their assistance with audio setup and event arrangements.

Most importantly, a BIG THANK YOU to our community members! Your presence, thoughtful questions, and enthusiastic participation made this forum meaningful and memorable.

Democracy grows stronger when we come together, listen to different perspectives, and make our voices heard!
We look forward to more opportunities to connect, engage, and empower our community.
