John Scherer will talk on Clifton Park's Heritage Square Friday Nov 1st at 7 pm at Grooms Tavern. The Town of Clifton Park will form the Heritage Square on Sugar Hill Road, which will include the Grooms Tavern and adjoining Blacksmith Shop, the Mohawk Valley Grange, and the newly acquired property between them. This is an exciting time for historical preservation and this new property will facilitate new social and educational events.

We look forward to sharing our ideas and encourage you to participate in developing the plans for the Heritage Square. This is a great opportunity for you to be part of the future of Clifton Park and make a contribution toward its cultural and historic preservation.

Refreshments will be served.
We look forward to seeing you.
Bring sunshine, fun and good stories.

Blacksmiths at Historic Grooms Tavern in Clifton Park
Saturday September 14, 10:00 to 4:00 pm.

“By Hammer and Hand All Arts Do Stand”

The medieval motto of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths from London, England perfectly expresses the Blacksmiths’ place in creating the work we live in. It is the Blacksmith who made the tools that all other crafts use, from the carpenters’ chisels to the chef’s knives.

We not only make their tools, we even make our own, sometimes making tools to make the tools we need!

Come see blacksmiths from The Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne and from the Capital District Blacksmiths Association demonstrate their craft from 10 Am to 4 PM at Historic Grooms Tavern, 290 Sugar Hill Road in Rexford, NY.
