Let's talk about sore hocks.
Sore hocks is redness and blistering usually found on rabbits back feet. This can be caused from improper flooring, obesity, over grown nails, and sometimes rabbits are just prone do it due to their skeletal structure. The shape of their spines can cause them to put more pressure on their back feet.
As a Mini Rex, Ms. Helena here has a spine shape that really wore out her hocks. We definitely had a lot of trial and error. A month later, her hocks are looking so much better than before. Using bath mats, memory foam, and other things to keep a nice cushion on her feet has really helped.
We are super happy to announce we are 99% sure we have figured out what she needs to keep those feet in good shape!
