Calling all Hippie Helpers. We have one of our local friends, a single dad with three kids whose been without a washing machine for about four months. We’d really like to help him. Does anybody have one they’re not using or are upgrading and getting rid of one?

💛 What a week of compassion and community care here in Universal City.

This week, we were able to step in for neighbors facing some truly tough moments.
A local family who experienced severe flooding lost many of their household items — thanks to this community, we were able to help them replace essentials and regain a bit of stability.
We also provided lots of food to multiple families, making sure pantries were full and no one went to bed hungry.
And several of our homeless neighbors came in with shoes so worn that the soles were peeling away from miles of walking. Because of your generosity, they left with sturdy shoes, dignity, and relief.

To every donor, volunteer, and friend who keeps this mission alive — thank you. Your kindness is felt every single day.

🌻 Our food pantry is always in need of non‑perishable staples, especially:

• Peanut butter & jelly
• Spaghetti & spaghetti sauce
• Rice & beans
• Dry cereal
• Canned meats
• Pop‑Tarts
• Snack crackers

Every donation helps a neighbor in need.
Every act of kindness strengthens our community.

Thank you for being part of this mission. 🌿💛

Don’t forget all clothes are $3.50 every day so come out and see us for some amazing deals.

What a beautiful week of community care.
With your help, our little store was able to help several families with food support and shared local resources to help them meet minimum needs. One of our homeless neighbors received a bike from St. Vincent Church, our kiddos got new shoes, and we carried crutches and groceries right to a family’s car.

A huge thank‑you to IDEA Public Schools for donating books so our kids can kick off summer with stories and smiles. 📚✨

Summer is here — come visit us. We’ll be doing crafts on select Fridays and would love to see you. Will announce them in advance.

🌻 We do have an important need.
Our food pantry shelves are running low. We’re asking for not‑expired, non‑perishable items such as:
• Spaghetti & sauce
• Rice & beans
• Dry cereal
• Pop‑Tarts
• Snack crackers
• Canned meats
• Other staple pantry items

Your donations help us keep serving families, seniors, children, and neighbors experiencing hardship.

❤️ Thank you for loving your community and blessing so many. ❤️

🌿 Every day at our nonprofit reminds us what community truly means.

This week, your kindness helped change lives in the most beautiful ways:
• A fresh start for a mom — dishes, blankets, and the essentials she needed to settle into her new apartment.
• Clothing and shoes for children
• A few hours of work for a neighbor — just enough to help him cover rent and breathe a little easier.
• Daily food and essentials — shared with families who walk through our doors needing a hand, not judgment.

💛 We are also honored to support two community members seeking work:
• A young man connected through Vista Vocational Resource Center, looking for 10–15 hours a week. Please contact Sandra if you can help.
• Another gentleman in the Universal City area seeking full‑time work, with experience in sales, indoor and outdoor construction.

Your generosity makes all of this possible.
Your donations, your time, your compassion — you are the reason hope grows here every day.

🌻 Thank you for blessing us, so we can continue blessing others.

Shout out to our hippie helpers: One of our local homeless friends is in urgent need of a bicycle to get to and from a new job. If anyone has one laying around, they’re not using, we’d love to put it in the hands of somebody who could really benefit from it. As always, thanks in advance for your help.

🤗 This week at The Thrifty Hippie, we witnessed the beauty of a community that refuses to let its neighbors struggle alone.

Because of you, we were able to give:
• Food to a single mom who needed a little help
• Clothing to a man recovering from a devastating fire
• A stroller to a mom gaining new independence
• Groceries to families trying to stretch their budgets
• Backpacks filled with clothing and shoes for those starting fresh

These moments matter and YOU make them possible. Thank you, Universal City and surrounding areas, for being a community that cares deeply.

🎓 And to all the graduates — we celebrate you. Your hard work and resilience inspire us.

💛 Here at the Thrifty Hippie, we are full of gratitude for the kindness we see everyday. So many people to thank.

Firat, a special thank‑you goes out to Top Hat and Southern Lady Estate Sales for their generous donations. Your support helps us keep families fed, clothed, and cared for.

We are equally grateful for all the anonymous food donations that get delivered to the store. Because of you, up to 20 families a day are able to visit our food bank and leave with the essentials they need.

Yet another thanks goes to the amazing ladies who pick up items at the store and deliver them to the homeless community and Humane Society. Your compassion reaches far beyond our doors.

And finally, a big shout‑out to the Vista Vocational Resource Center who support the local disabled/injured population. We were blessed to have their participants volunteer with us as they prepare for future job placements. Their hard work and bright spirits made a real difference.

Every donation, every volunteer hour, every act of kindness helps us continue our mission of serving those in need.
Thank you for being part of this beautiful community. 🤗🌻

Don’t forget, we’re always in need of lightly used clothing, household essentials and non-perishable food items for the food bank.

This week reminded us why The Thrifty Hippie exists.

A mother came to our food bank and told us she hadn’t eaten in two days. Her children were her priority so they were getting everything she had. Thanks to this community, we were able to send her home with five days of food, warm clothing, blankets, resources, and love and a hug.

This is what your support makes possible every single day. Our food bank serves families, seniors, and individuals facing hardship. Our children’s clothing is always free. Our handicap items are always free. And when we have them, diapers are free for those who need them.

To our volunteers, donors, and everyone who believes in this mission — thank you. You are the reason hope walks through our doors.

🌻 We do have an important need right now.
Our food shelves are running low, and we are asking for donations of not‑expired, non‑perishable staples such as:
• Spaghetti & pasta sauce
• Mac & cheese
• Rice & beans
• Dry cereal
• Canned meats
• Other everyday pantry essentials

Every can, every box, every act of kindness helps a neighbor in need.
Thank you for helping us continue to serve Universal City and the surrounding areas with dignity and love. 💛🌿

️ Even in a week full of rain, this community shined brighter than ever.

Last week, when the storms rolled in, so did the needs — and because of your generosity, we were able to meet people right where they were, with compassion and dignity.

This week, together we were able to:
-Provide two tents, dry clothing, and warm food to some of our homeless neighbors who simply needed a safe, dry place to rest
-Support a wonderful Christian father of seven children with a washer and dryer, helping lighten the load for a family working hard every day
-Serve over 30 families through our food pantry, making sure no one went without a meal
-Provide clothing for more than 50 children, giving little ones comfort, confidence, and care
-Donate dog beds and other essentials to our local animal shelters, because every creature deserves warmth and love

Every act of kindness this week — big or small — was made possible by you.
Your donations, your prayers, your support, your heart for others… they change lives in ways you may never fully see, but we see it every single day.

From all of us at The Thrifty Hippie:
Thank you for helping us love our neighbors through the storms. We love y’all. 💛🌻

Community kindness showed up in a big way this week.

Because of your donations and your heart for helping others, we were able to support so many neighbors facing real challenges. This week, your generosity helped us:
✨ Contribute to the Olympia Elementary Humane Society Drive
✨ Support a family experiencing a recent loss with items to help them start over
✨ Provide essentials like a toaster oven, clothing, and household items to those rebuilding
✨ Share lots of food with families, seniors, and our homeless community

A huge shout‑out to Jujutsu for the big donation, and a special thank‑you to the anonymous donor who blesses us by having Walmart drop off food for our Food Bank.

Last, we’re trying to help a father of seven who had the family’s washing machine stop working. If anybody has one that’s not needed, we’d love to get it to somebody who can really use it. Please let us know if that’s you.

Every act of kindness makes a difference. Thank you for all you do to help us provide food, clothing, and essentials to those who need it most. God bless. 💛
