On September 28th, the Rangers Association met up at the top of Rainy Pass to do the annual litter cleanup along the beautiful North Cascades Highway 20. Between the 6 of us, we were able to pick up 9 bags of trash and enjoy the sunshine!

Donation to the Sunshine Fund

The Rangers Association is launching a 2 week fundraising campaign to raise money for our Sunshine Fund to support Washington State Parks employees and their families impacted by this historic wildfire season. All funds raised, minus bank/card processing fees, will go to those impacted by the fires. Donations will close on 8/23/2026.

The Fine Print:
Please note- the Association is a 501c(5) Nonprofit, NOT a 501c(3) Nonprofit, meaning donations are not tax deductible and we are not able to give you a receipt to write off donations. Please consult a tax professional for tax advice.
In the extremely unlikely event more funds are raised than needed by the end of the 2026 wildfire season, all additional money raised will be donated to World Central Kitchens, a nonprofit providing meals to those in need, including those impacted by the Spokane fires.

Notice to Those Impacted by Wildfires
The Washington State Park Rangers Association would like to support our members and all of Washington State Parks' hardworking employees and their families impacted by the historic wildfires facing our state.

The Association has funds set aside in our Sunshine Fund to assist those facing hardship or tragedy. Any Association members or State Parks' employees facing losses from evacuation orders, loss of property, or experiencing other wildfire related hardship are encouraged to reach out to the association at: [email protected] so we can find a way to support you.

Applications for assistance through the Sunshine Fund are always available on our website at www.WashingtonRangers.org/our-programs however to avoid added stress in an already challenging time, the Association has waived the need for those impacted by the current wildfires to submit an application. A simple email to [email protected] informing us of how you have been impacted by the fires and letting us know what you need is sufficient. Please include your phone number as well to allow for expedited follow up.

Due to the extraordinary nature of the fires the Association Board has voted to approve temporary immediate assistance to both Association members and non-member State Parks employees, up to $600 for Association members and $300 for non-member State Parks employees, as long as Sunshine Funds remain available.

For those not impacted, please consider donating at the link below to support those suffering losses from the fires.
