Adult Family Home Council

Adult Family Home Council The Adult Family Home Council exists to improve the lives & well-being of vulnerable adults through the support of Adult Family Home Providers.

There are over 3,800 adult family homes across the state. Each home is independently licensed and operated. An adult family home can serve between 2 and 8 residents. All adult family homes provide some essential services including assistance with activities of daily living, meals, laundry and more. Some adult family homes are operated by nurses or other appropriate licensed staff to support a resi

dent’s needs. The Adult Family Home Council is a mission driven member organization formed in 1995 providing adult family home providers with resources and training covering all aspects of their business. The Adult Family Home Council supports 11 regional chapters that conduct regular meetings, continuing education and networking opportunities. The Adult Family Home Council also advocates on behalf of AFH providers with the state legislature, the Department of Social and Health Services, as a member of the Washington State Senior Citizen’s Lobby, and is the exclusively recognized representative of adult family homes for purposes of collective bargaining.

The Live-In Care Impact Survey is still open—and we need to hear from Washington’s adult family home providers.

Your response will help AFHC better understand how adult family homes use live-in caregivers and how recent legal changes may affect providers. The survey is open to AFHC members and non-members.

Please submit one response for each licensed adult family home you operate.

Take the survey: https://afhc.org/afhc/afh-live-in-care-impact-survey

Please share this post with other Washington adult family home providers. The more responses we receive, the clearer the statewide picture will be.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Lakewood AFHC Chapter Meeting! We had such a strong turnout that we needed a little extra help keeping everyone fed.

Special thanks to Soundview Medical Supply for stepping up and providing additional food for attendees, and to our Lunch Sponsor, Cascade Senior Living Services and their Cascade Adult Day Services team, for their support of the Lakewood Chapter and our adult family home community.

We’re grateful to our sponsors, partners, and - most importantly - the providers who continue to show up, connect, share, and strengthen our community.

Thank you for making this meeting such a success! 💙

Need help completing the AFHC Live-In Care Survey?

We’ve created a step-by-step video walkthrough explaining what each question is asking and how to submit information that accurately reflects your adult family home. The walkthrough does not suggest which answers to select—responses should be based on your home’s circumstances.

AFHC members and nonmembers are encouraged to participate as we work toward at least 1,000 responses.

Please submit one response for each licensed adult family home. If you operate multiple homes, complete a separate survey for each license.

Watch the walkthrough and access the survey:https://adultfamilyhomecouncil.org/afhc/live-in-care-survey-walkthrough

Your participation will help AFHC better understand the impact on providers across Washington.

The Live-In Caregiver Impact Survey is still open - and we want to hear from as many Washington adult family home providers as possible.

You do not need to be an AFHC member to participate. Responses from both members and non-members will help us better understand providers’ experiences and the potential effects on adult family homes.

Please submit one response for each licensed home you operate:

https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/A55jxW7J1k

AFHC is also developing a short, neutral walkthrough video to explain the survey questions and help providers complete it accurately without suggesting how they should respond. We will share the video as soon as it is available.

Please share this survey with other licensed adult family home providers.
