I've volunteered here and they make sure all the food is in good condition. This is especially important with fresh fruits and veggies. Occasionally, they get Amazon pallets and guest get to pick from the box. If you're having a tough time and need food, Iron Gate Tulsa is a great place to go.

Summer can be especially challenging for families facing food insecurity. Iron Gate offers a low-barrier grocery pantry to help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.

When a young person enters the justice system, families are often left reeling, confused, isolated, and unsure of what comes next. But one Tulsa law student is working to change that.

While many Tulsa area schools are out for the summer, if your child is in detention, they may still be having lessons. Check with detention counselors or your child. If they are still having lessons, make sure to encourage them to stay on top of their work.

The Tulsa Public Library brings books by the detention center. Encourage your child to keep reading over the summer to make sure they don't fall into the summer slump.

Families, you made it through another week. Get out there, relax, and enjoy yourself. Acknowledge any guilt felt and remind yourself that sitting in suffering/guilt won't make you a better parent/guardian/caregiver. Fill your bucket this weekend in preparation for next week's trials.
