Did you know?

• 1 in 10 men experience depression or anxiety.
• Men are nearly 4 times more likely to die by su***de than women.
• Many men do not seek help due to stigma and societal pressure.

This month, let’s remind the men in our lives that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Check in. Listen. Support.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month 💙

Too many men struggle in silence, carrying stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional pain alone.

This month, let’s encourage open conversations, check in on one another, and remind the men in our lives that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Men suffer. Men struggle. Men heal.

Yesterday, Karibu Community Legacy was proud to join our partner, the Tahirih Justice Center, at the Tee It Up for Tahirih charity golf tournament. We were honored to support their incredible mission of empowering immigrant women and girls fleeing violence and helping survivors rebuild their lives with safety, dignity, and hope.

Thank you, , for the impactful work you do every day. We are grateful to stand with you in creating stronger, safer communities.

Be gentle with yourself. You are healing from things people never saw.
Healing is not always visible, and strength is often found in the quiet moments no one else understands. Take your time, give yourself grace, and remember that caring for your mental and emotional well-being matters.

Isolation is one of the most powerful tools used in abusive situations. It often happens gradually by limiting someone’s contact with friends, family, or support systems until the person begins to feel alone, dependent, and unsure of their own reality.

Understanding this is important: healthy relationships encourage connection, not separation. If someone is being discouraged from seeing loved ones, monitored, or made to feel guilty for maintaining relationships, these can be warning signs of control and emotional abuse.

Support matters. If you or someone you know is experiencing isolation, reaching out to a trusted person, community, or support service can be a powerful first step. No one should have to face life cut off from care, voice, and connection.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Take a break. Breathe. Rest without guilt. Life can be overwhelming, and many people carry silent battles every day. Let us choose kindness, compassion, and understanding for ourselves and others.

You are seen. You are valued. You matter.

Domestic violence and mental health are deeply connected, and the effects impact entire families. Survivors may struggle with anxiety, depression, fear, and emotional trauma, while children who witness abuse can carry those wounds into adulthood.
Healing begins with support, safe spaces, and open conversations about mental health. Every family deserves peace, safety, and the chance to heal.
