It's What We Need Wednesday! Thank you parents for cleaning out your sons' closets and donating so much boy's clothing this past week! Keep it coming! Our needs for this week are as follows: Boy's bottoms mostly sizes 6-12; Men's bottoms sizes 30-34, Men's shoes sizes 8-11, all sizes of youth shoes, all sizes women's fall/winter dresses and plus size women's clothing especially sizes XL-3X. For housewares: pots and pans, coffee mugs and/or teacups, and silverware especially forks. Thank you donors for all that you are doing to ensure that refugee and immigrant families are able to get the things needed most.

Our friends from Zurn Elkay Water Solutions came to the rescue again! Today 11 volunteers from Zurn Elkay came and not only sorted and hung a ton of donated clothing but also helped to assemble dining room tables and chairs and loaded 2 truckloads of clothing in preparation for our Shop Welcome sale on Saturday! Zurn is one of our valued volunteer groups that have returned time after time to help support our mission. We truly appreciate their partnership. Thank you, Baffin Hammond, for being such a great leader and organizing these group volunteer sessions.

We are a week away from our next Shop Welcome fundraiser sale! Join us on 10/24 from 9-4 pm at Refuge Coffee Clarkston and grab some great buys while supporting our joint mission of supporting refugee and immigrant families in the community. We are also hosting a free kid’s coat giveaway sponsored by Operation Warm so bring your children to get fitted for a free brand new coat just in time for fall.

It's What We Need Wednesday! We are currently accepting Fall and Winter clothing only. Our biggest needs are: Boys' bottoms sizes 2T-16; Men's bottoms - sizes 30-34; men's shoes sizes 8-11; all sizes of youth shoes; Women's fall/winter dresses of all sizes, and plus size women's clothing - pants and tops sizes XL and up. Our houseware needs are pots and pans, plates, coffee mugs, and silverware. Thank you to each of you who continue to donate to help support our mission as we can't operate without your generosity!

Shop Welcome is back on Oct 24th!

Cleaning out your closet? Put it to good use!
Shop Welcome is coming October 24, and we're collecting donations now. This pop up thrift shop is one of our favorite times of the year. Your donations help stock the day and support refugees and other immigrants in our community. Bring your gently used clothing, coats, and shoes (no undergarments, please) and give them a second life.
Drop them off at The Welcome Co-Op (2062 Weems Rd Tucker GA 30084). Every bit helps!

It's What We Need Wednesday! This Wednesday is a repeat of last week as we are still in need of houseware and fall and winter clothing especially boys and men's clothing and shoes. Thank you for each and every donor that has contributed to help support our mission!

It's Fall Break and this great group of students and their mothers from Lakeside High School choose to spend 3 hours volunteering for a great cause today! In no time, they cleared out the backlog of unsorted donations and helped us prepare for our fall/winter change out by hanging tons of winter clothes. What a difference a couple of hours can make when you have a dedicated group of volunteers focused on helping others and having some fun while doing it. Thank you all for volunteering with us today!

Mark your calendars and join us for our next Shop Welcome community fundraiser sale on October 24th from 9-4 pm at Refuge Coffee in Clarkston. This year we will have both summer and winter clothing available so come out and fill the 1st bag for only $5 and then only $1 per additional item. In addition, this year we are partnering with Operation Warm for a free brand-new children's coats giveaway! So please plan to bring your children to be fitted for their very own brand-new coat just in time for colder weather. All proceeds from this fundraiser sale will benefit refugees and immigrant communities served by The Welcome Co-Op and Coffee Co. Interested in volunteering? This heartwarming success story from one of our members, Inspiritus, explains exactly why we do what we do! Helping refugees move from surviving to thriving in their new lives is a huge part of our mission. Job well done Inspiritus!

When Conde arrived in Atlanta from Guinea as a newly arrived refugee, she was looking for stability, connection, and a path toward independence.

Through Inspiritus’ Intensive Case Management program, Conde received support as she navigated life in a new city and searched for employment. Volunteers from All Saints Episcopal Church also came alongside her, providing culturally appropriate groceries, practical guidance, and a welcoming community.
Together, that support helped Conde secure a job and become fully self-sufficient.

Today, she works, pays her own rent, and can often be found riding her electric scooter around Atlanta - a simple but joyful picture of her newfound confidence and independence. 🛴❤️

Conde’s story reminds us that a new beginning becomes possible when people don’t have to navigate it alone.

This is what it looks like to move from surviving to thriving.
