It's "What We Need Wednesday"!
The Welcome Co-Op would like to thank everyone that has donated recently. We currently have an overabundance of winter clothing, so we are focusing on summer clothing only for the next few months. What we need most: houseware items like plates, bowls, cups, glasses (no wine glasses), good condition pots and pans. Clothing needs: Men's small shirts, shorts and pants; women's summer dresses size L-XL; Boy's shorts and pants sizes 6-8; Girl's shorts and pants sizes 10-12, and school age children's shoes. Tax deductible donations can be dropped off at 2062 Weems Rd Tucker, GA 30084 on Monday - Thursday from 9-3 pm and Friday from 9-12 pm. Thanks in advance!

Shoe much fun doing this unboxing. Sole grateful for these women’s shoes, but we are sneaker-ing in a request for more donations for 👟KIDS SHOES 👟. They are always in high demand at the shop so if you have any to donate or know of any organization that will bulk donate, drop a comment below!!👇

Who says you have to be an adult to donate? Generosity has no age restrictions. This group of 10th graders from Atlanta International School coordinated a hygiene and cleaning product donation drive as their school project. After learning about the plight of refugees and the work The Welcome Co-Op does to assist refugees in the community, they opened their hearts and their wallets and purchased hygiene and cleaning supplies that are most needed by families right now. They saw a need and took action! Thank you to the 10th graders of Atlanta International School and their French teacher, Ms. Hermine Morrell for orchestrating this partnership. Another successful volunteer group in the books! On 5/2 The Welcome Co-Op had the pleasure of hosting a volunteer group of 14 from Sunday Assembly Atlanta. This energetic group of volunteers assembled 50 Essentials Kits filled with hygiene and cleaning supplies for the refugee families we serve. Sunday Assembly Atlanta was the recipient of a grant sponsored by which they generously used to purchase the supplies for the Essentials Kits. Each of the volunteers went the extra mile and wrote handwritten welcome letters to give out with the kits. A huge thank you to Erika Mims for organizing the donation drive and kit making day. The power of volunteerism was on display on 4/25/2026 when a group of 12 volunteers from Accenture, took over the Welcome Co-Op for 4 hours and transformed the space into a well-organized warehouse with tons of space ready for more donations! Logging 48 volunteer hours, this team worked together seamlessly to sort through hundreds of clothing items and flexed their muscles in the warehouse reorganizing dozens of pallets of donated items and assembling furniture so that staff can easily access the donations. Their 4 hours of dedicated work would have taken our small staff a week to accomplish on our own. Thank you Accenture for encouraging your staff to pay it forward with a day of service in the community.

The Welcome Co-Op sends a huge thank you to for hosting a baby items and hygiene drive this month. The refugee families that shopped today were able to walk away with soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent, diapers and wipes, all because one person, Ana Melgar found it in her heart to support our cause and coordinate a donation drive. Thank you Ana, The Bunny Hive Smyrna and all that donated in this drive. You have truly made a difference through your generosity!
