We engage community families and partners by building, preserving, and revitalizing communities. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

We seek to eliminate substandard housing and living conditions in DeKalb County by partnering with God and people from all walks of life. Through this partnership, we can create a better environment for lower-income families as we strive to provide the opportunity to live in a decent and safe house in a community where they can live, work, and grow.

We are proud to be continuing to partner with Warren Technical students, giving them hands on experience working on our repair sites. Today they had the chance to meet Mrs. Maxey, a DeKalb senior, and to begin work on her front porch.

A meaningful week at the 2026 Habitat for Humanity Affiliate Conference, celebrating our 50th Anniversary. We left inspired by powerful plenaries, thoughtful sessions and workshops, and the chance to connect with others who share our mission. Together, we’re building strength, stability, and hope through affordable housing.

Habitat for Humanity DeKalb was grateful to welcome an incredible team of Wells Fargo volunteers for a home rehabilitation project. Their efforts and dedication made a tremendous impact on the job site and helped move this home one step closer to completion.

Volunteers applied two coats of exterior paint, sealed the home, installed blocking in the kitchen and closets, reinforced the attic stairs with brackets, and helped complete the back porch.

From the first brushstroke to the final detail, their hard work is helping create a safe, beautiful, and lasting home for a local DeKalb father and his two sons. We’re grateful to Wells Fargo for investing their time, talent, and heart into strengthening our community and helping make home possible for a deserving family. Wells Fargo

Please join us in welcoming Michael, our new Construction Coordinator!

Michael first started volunteering with us in March 2025. After spending most of his workdays behind a computer, he wanted to get out, do something positive, and connect with people in the community. He began helping with home repair projects and had such a great experience his first time that he kept coming back regularly, at least once a week.

By September of that year, Habitat recognized Michael’s dedication and brought him on as a contractor as the organization began expanding. After a year and a half of contributing his time and talents, Michael accepted a full-time position with us last week as our Construction Coordinator.

Outside of work, Michael and his wife enjoy antiquing and thrifting. We’re excited to have him on the team and look forward to all he will bring to Habitat and the families we serve. Welcome, Michael!!

This week, the Warren Tech students are continuing their hands-on work with us as we rebuild the deck’s base and begin laying concrete. They’re gaining valuable construction experience while helping create a safe space for a local DeKalb veteran.
