🌼Neighborhood Entrance Watering Sign-Ups Are Open!🌼
With summer just around the corner, we're looking for volunteers to help water the entrance planters. As they say, many hands make light work! Good news; thanks to our drought-tolerant plants this year, watering only needs to happen once a week!
Sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084DAEAF28A3F9C25-64199086-randolph
What To Do: Water the brick planter at the corner of Randolph & Briarcliff and the Tribute Garden directly across from it. Tish is kindly offering use of her water hose; just turn it on at the front of the house (3172 Randolph) and go to town! During drought conditions, keep county water restrictions in mind and water before 10am or after 4pm. Thank you!

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

There was a baby owl on the corner of Mccully Court this evening! The kids were very interested, but we weren’t sure what we should do.

This from Diane Floyd:
Apparently, baby owls, go through a stage in which they leave the nest before they are able to fly and essentially fall out of the tree. To get back into the nest, they climb the tree, using their talons, beaks and wings to get themselves back up into the nest. Last night I saw something doing just that in the big pine tree across the street. There were wings flapping, and then they would stop and then they would start flapping a couple of feet further up all while two adult owls were standing watch nearby. So that baby owl that was on the ground was apparently what is called a “brancher” and was what I saw essentially climbing the tree last night. Since that baby owl is gone, I suspect it has climbed back up the tree.
