Georgia law requires a task force to review the QBE formula that funds our public schools, but that task force still has not been convened in years. After Reps. Lupton, Wilkerson and I introduced legislation over the last two years both to update QBE and to propose a comprehensive review of the formula (and school healthcare costs), I sent a letter asking Gov. Kemp to convene the task force the General Assembly required by law. We desperately need not only a school funding formula that reflects what it actually costs to educate Georgia students today, but also a government that does what the law requires of it.
