🌧️ WEATHER CLOSURE NOTICE – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 🌧️

Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our neighbors, volunteers, and staff in mind, NETWorks Cooperative Ministry will be CLOSED tomorrow, Saturday, October 10, due to the forecast for severe weather, including heavy rain, strong winds, and potential flooding.

We know how important access to food is for the families we serve, and this decision was not made lightly. Many of our neighbors walk to the pantry or wait outdoors, and their safety is our priority.

We will reopen for regular pantry hours on Wednesday, October 14, from 10 AM–1 PM.

Please stay safe, take necessary precautions, and help us spread the word so no one makes an unnecessary trip to the pantry.

❤️ Thank you for your understanding and for looking out for one another.

Our Development Director Stephanie Shapiro wears a lot of hats… including this pretty great Tucker one! 🧢💙

And today, she’s wearing ALL of them! She’s prepping for Taste of Tucker, welcoming the Rotary Club of Tucker to NETWorks for a grant presentation supporting Growings, bundling 40,000 Taste Tickets with some fabulous volunteers 😳 — and then heading to the Tucker Farmers Market tonight to sell our beautiful hydroponically grown Growings lettuce! 🥬

Come see us tonight 4-7 PM at St. Andrews 4882 Lavista Rd, — and don’t forget: Taste of Tucker is NEXT SATURDAY, October 3, from 1–6 PM on Tucker Town Green, benefiting NETWorks and Camp Kudzu! 🎉

🎟️ Presale Taste Tickets + T-shirts are available through Thursday, October 1 at noon:
Get your Taste Tickets & T-shirts! https://secure.givelively.org/event/net-works-cooperative-ministry-inc/taste-of-tucker-2026-pre-sale

STOCK THE SHELVES THURSDAY 🛒

Going to the grocery store this week?

Add one more thing to your cart. 💜

Our pantry shelves move FAST, and these are five items we can always use more of:

🥫 Canned meats — tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages
🍝 Pasta
🥜 Peanut butter & jelly
🫗 Vegetable oil
🧂 Seasonings & spices

You don't have to fill a shopping cart to make a difference. If 100 neighbors each grabbed one extra item this week, that's 100 items headed to families in our community.

One extra item. That's the ask.

Drop donations at NETWorks, 4296 Cowan Road in Tucker. Tuesday-Friday 10-5; Saturday 10-3

WHY GIVE WEDNESDAY 💜

Your $25 doesn't need to decide what it wants to be when it grows up. 😉

Maybe it becomes food.

Maybe it helps keep a refrigerator running.

Maybe it supports transportation, technology or supplies.

Maybe it helps NETWorks respond to something we didn't know we'd need until that very day.

That's the power of an unrestricted financial gift.

You give us the flexibility to respond to the need in front of us.

No shopping.
No guessing.
No wondering whether we already have 400 cans of green beans. 😂

Just click. Give. Make an impact.

🧠 THEY HAVE THE QUESTIONS. DO YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS?

Matt & Zach are back behind the microphones for NETWorks Trivia Night—which means you should probably start assembling your team now. 😏

You’ll need:

✔️ Someone who knows history
✔️ Someone who knows pop culture
✔️ Someone who knows sports
✔️ Someone who knows completely useless facts
✔️ And one person whose main contribution is snacks and moral support

Every great trivia team has one. 😂

Join us Friday, November 13 for 10 rounds of trivia, games, prizes and plenty of laughs—all while supporting NETWorks Cooperative Ministry.

Come with a team, register on your own, or join us as a sponsor. No trivia expertise required. Competitive spirit strongly encouraged.

🎟️ Registration is OPEN! https://bit.ly/NETTrivia2026

👇 So which role are YOU on the trivia team?
And “snacks and moral support” is a perfectly respectable answer. 😂

STOCK THE SHELVES THURSDAY 💪

We have a little pantry crush.

Canned protein. 😍🥫

Tuna. Chicken. Vienna sausages. Chili. Beans. Other shelf-stable proteins.

Why the love?

Protein helps make a pantry bag into meals—and shelf-stable options are easy to store, easy to distribute and incredibly useful for our neighbors.

Bonus points for:

⭐ Pop tops
⭐ Tear-open pouches
⭐ Ready-to-eat options
⭐ Individual sizes that don't require refrigeration after opening

So if you're standing in the canned-food aisle wondering what NETWorks needs...

PROTEIN. We choose protein. 💪😂

Grab a few. Drop them by NETWorks. We'll make sure they get where they're needed.

WHY GIVE WEDNESDAY 💜

Here's something you probably won't see on a NETWorks wish list:

Brake pads. 😂

But sometimes that's exactly what your donation might help provide.

Our truck helps us pick up food and supplies and move resources where they need to go. And vehicles need gas. Tires. Oil changes. Maintenance. And, yes, occasionally repairs.

It's not glamorous.

It's essential.

Because getting food onto our shelves is part of getting food onto our neighbors' tables.

That's one of the beautiful things about giving financially: your gift can go toward the need that exists right now—even when that need happens to have four wheels.

🧠 CALLING ALL SMARTY PANTS! 🧠

You know that friend who knows everything?
The one who says, “Wait, wait—I KNOW this!” before every answer?
The person with a strangely specific knowledge of 80s music, state capitals, movie quotes, sports stats, or completely useless facts?

We need them. 😂

NETWorks Trivia Night is coming Friday, November 13, and Matt & Zach are ready to put all that random knowledge to the test!

🙋 Play individually — we’ll get you in the game
👯 Gather your crew and form a team
⭐ Become a sponsor and support NETWorks while getting in on the fun

Expect 10 rounds of trivia, games, prizes, questionable team names, lots of laughs, and at least one answer your table will argue about all the way home.

And the best part? Every ticket supports NETWorks Cooperative Ministry and our work serving neighbors in need. 💜

🎟️ Tickets are OPEN—grab yours today!

September 11 | Patriot Day

Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the first responders and ordinary people who acted with extraordinary courage. And we hold close the families and communities who carry the weight of that day still.

We also remember what followed: neighbors helping neighbors, strangers caring for one another, and communities finding strength in service.

Twenty-five years later, may we continue to choose compassion, kindness, and care for our neighbors—not only in moments of tragedy, but every day.

We remember. We honor. We serve.
