My favorite Rotary tradition of the year…
As one Rotary year comes to a close and another begins, one of my favorite traditions is when the past presidents, gather to ring the bell and pass the gavel from one past president to the next. Starting with our longest tenure past president, and ending with our newest, it’s a beautiful reminder that every president leaves their mark and helps shape the future of our Club.
As always, the bell ringing ceremony celebrates, not just a change in leadership, but the continuity of service, friendship, and community that makes our club so very special.

We gathered for our final board meeting of the 2025–2026 Rotary year, first taking care of the “official business” as we wrapped up a truly meaningful year led by our current President, Kathi Eigenrauch.

Once the business was complete, we moved on to what Rotary does best—food, fellowship, and great conversation. It was a wonderful evening spent together celebrating a successful year of connection, friendship, and impact in our community.

A special thank you to Deb and Mike Raflowitz for generously hosting us once again in ‘paradise’, and to Dominic Mantuano for providing such beautiful music that set the perfect tone for the evening.

As we close out this year, we’re looking forward with excitement to what’s ahead under the leadership of incoming President Fred Petrossi and the next chapter of Rotary service together.

A special thank you to Kathi Eigenrauch for truly being a “Difference Maker” herself! Kathi’s leadership, heart, and dedication made a lasting impact on our club and our community!

Trumbull’s Epic Day of Service fun And fellowship event: On Sat May 16, our Rotary club participated in the Rotary Epic Day of Service by assembling 300 toiletry kit for students at a local elementary school in Bridgeport. Rotarians packed essential hygiene items like soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, and Chapstick for students whose families are facing financial hardship. This hardship directly impacts the student’s health, confidence, and well-being at school. Since SNAP benefits don’t cover hygiene products, these kits are helping to meet an important need for students on their families.

This week, Trumbull Rotary proudly presented LivFree with a $4,000 donation to help further its mission of providing “moments of hope and joy to kids and families fighting pediatric cancer.”

LivFree is an organization that has truly touched the hearts of our Rotary members—and more importantly, has made a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families facing this incredibly difficult journey.

Many in our community first learn about LivFree through its beloved Movie Night events, which bring people together in an atmosphere of fun, laughter, togetherness, and support. Trumbull Rotary is a proud sponsor of this event and looks forward to continuing—and strengthening—our partnership with LivFree in the years ahead.
