League of Women Voters of Rensselaer County Your voice matters. We help you use it. Nonpartisan education and action for a stronger democracy. What does the League do? Takes action/lobbies/testifies.

Teaches citizens and noncitizens about their rights and responsibilities. Encourages individual participation in the political process through voter registration, voting machine demonstrations, and other voter education. Educates citizens about issues, legislation and candidates through voters' guides, candidates forums,and debates. Develops consensus through studies and in-depth analyses of i

ssues by its members. Monitors governments activities from local to national. Promotes inclusion and diversity in the political process and in all League activities.

Enjoy these photos from our 2026 annual meeting last night. There were many presentations about the work we’ve been doing over the past year. We also voted on our budget, bylaw changes, new slate of officers and directors, and heard from out two students who participated in Students Inside Albany. Congrats to Liz Kluz on receiving the Mary Stierer Award. Please be sure to check out our website for upcoming activities, including our summer picnic on August 1.

Will we see you at the Annual Meeting?

If you haven't registered for the annual meeeting yet, please do that quickly. We need to get the numbers to the venue on June 3rd.

This is a great opportunity to see people, hear about what we've in done the last year, and help plan for the new term. You will be voting on the new budget, changes to the bylaws, and the slate proposed by the Nominating Committee.

The dinner meeting is at the Brunswick Lodge of Elks at 665 Brunswick Rd, Troy on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:30 - 8:30. You can register online at our website or use the attached form that was recently emailed to members (with a check).
