Tickets are now on sale for An Evening Over the Falls - Mount Ida's Second Annual Gala!

Over the past few weeks we've been hard at work planning Mount Ida's 2026–2027 season, strengthening the systems that support our growing organization, and working with a new intern to collect photos, videos, and stories from an incredible spring season. We're excited to share a full recap of everything we've accomplished, and a preview of what's ahead in the coming weeks.

If you attended an event this spring and have photos or videos you'd be willing to share, we'd love to include them in our recap! Please send them to [email protected].

In the meantime, we wanted to give everyone something exciting to look forward to.

Join us on Saturday, September 26 for the Second Annual Evening Over the Falls Gala, an evening celebrating another remarkable year at Mount Ida Preservation Hall and the official kickoff to our Fall Season.

Enjoy a chef-prepared dinner by Chef Larry Schepici, live music in our historic sanctuary, and an opportunity to celebrate everything we've accomplished together while looking ahead to the year to come.

Tickets are now available! For indivudals, full tables, and those who want to contribute above and beyond!

A limited number of Community Access Tickets are available for artists, volunteers, students, and community members for whom the standard ticket price presents a financial barrier. If cost would prevent you from attending, shoot us an email - all requests will be handled confidentially.

We hope you'll join us as we celebrate another year of preserving history, building community, and creating a home for the arts in Troy.

Final Two Events of Our Spring Season
June 8 & 9 | Free / Open to the Public

We close our Spring Season with two of our most adventurous programs yet, as artists from near and far transform Mount Ida through immersive installation, sound, ritual, and performance.

Monday, June 8 | 2–8 PM
Madrigals, Void and Verb
An immersive visual and audio installation by Adriannos Efthymiadis and Jacksun Bein.

Step into the sanctuary transformed by sound, architecture, and striking visual elements. Part performance and part exhibition, this day-long installation invites visitors into a space where branches seem to forget gravity and the familiar drifts toward wonder.

Drop in anytime and stay as long as you like.
Grilled food available 6–8 PM.

Tuesday, June 9 | 7 PM
Việt Namaste Shamanaste: QUẾerake House Baller Ballads

Presented as part of GPS* 2026: Human + Computer Relations, this boldly playful and thought-provoking performance by Việt Lê and collaborators reimagines traditional hầu bóng ritual through music, movement, drag, and contemporary performance. Following the show, stay for a conversation with the artists.

A little rainbow over Mount Ida to close out the season.

While our Spring Season is coming to an end, the Luna Series, Anything Goes Open Mic, and additional artist-led programs will continue throughout the summer.

The Spring Season of Program at Mount Ida is coming to a close. We have events tonight, June 1st, June 2nd, June 3rd, June 8th, and June 9th. Make sure you come visit us!

Coming up tonight and this week:

We have three consecutive nights of music at Mount Ida -from intimate singer-songwriter performances, to a community fundraiser and open mic, to an evening of strings and original music. Remember, every event helps support the ongoing work of creating connected community in Troy.

Monday, June 1 | 7–9 PM | $20
Luna Series: Eric-jon Tasker

For June's Luna Series, singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Eric-jon Tasker brings an evening of original music shaped by longing, reinvention, tenderness, humor, and release. Drawing from decades as a touring musician, painter, photographer, and actor, Eric-jon's songs invite reflection and connection within the resonant sanctuary of Mount Ida beneath the full moon.

Tuesday, June 2 | 7–10 PM | Donations Welcome
Anything Goes Open Mic + Silent Film & Live Music After Party Fundraiser

Anything Goes Open Mic joins forces with a silent film and live music after-party fundraiser benefiting the caretakers of Woodside Presbyterian Church. Woodside has become an inspiring artists' space and venue in South Troy, and this evening helps support the people working to keep that creative community alive. Come share music, film, and community while helping neighbors get back on their feet.

Wednesday, June 3 | 7–9 PM | $10–20 Sliding Scale
An Evening of Strings & Song

Spend an evening with singer-songwriters Nora Meier and Lucy Nelligan alongside the debut performance of Triplum, a new Troy-based string trio featuring Connor Armbruster, Lucy Nelligan, and Jessica Bowen. Original music, acoustic strings, and thoughtful songwriting come together for an intimate listening experience in one of Troy's most unique spaces.

Saturday, May 30 | Doors 6:30 PM | Show 7:00 PM
Mount Ida Preservation Hall – Troy, NY

Alternatives is an immersive, multi-disciplinary showcase bringing together a dynamic group of artists working across sound, performance, and visual media. The evening features improvisation, song, harp and voice, poetry, theater, and projected works designed to create a layered experience that invites exploration, reflection, and connection.

At the center of the program is Pigbutchering, an improvisation and song-based ensemble led by composer and performer Eddie Jowels. Rooted in a belief in the power of imagination and wonder, Eddie’s work spans experimental improvisation, classical performance, and contemporary genres, drawing from a wide-ranging career that includes performances across Europe and New York City, as well as collaborations with numerous ensembles and artists throughout the region.
This showcase highlights artists who move fluidly between disciplines, offering a program that is both expansive and intimate; blurring boundaries between forms while creating space for shared moments.

Join us for an evening of creative exploration and live performance in one of Troy’s most unique historic spaces.
