🎉 Celebrating 5 Years in Rensselaer! 🎉

Five years ago, StreetSoldiers expanded into Rensselaer with a simple mission: to show up, build connections, and make sure our neighbors knew they were seen, valued, and cared for.

What followed was so much more than meals and supplies. Over the last five years, we’ve shared conversations, celebrated successes, offered support during difficult times, and built a community rooted in compassion and respect.

None of this would have been possible without the volunteers and organizations who give their time, the donors who share their resources, and the guests who trust us enough to keep coming back week after week. Every person who has been part of StreetSoldiers Rensselaer has helped shape what this community has become.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has walked alongside us during the past five years. Together, we’ve proven that small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

Whether you've been joining us for years or have never attended before, we'd love to celebrate with you on June 20 as we mark this special milestone together.

We are so grateful for the incredible support of this community. Our lines continue to grow and each month we worry that some may go without, but we’ve been able to continue to meet need because of the love and support from you all!

Rensselaer Police Department shared pantry items and potatoes with us that were in abundance at another distribution down the road. They thought to load up their cars and share with us! Thank you!

Kiwanis Builders Club and National Jr Honor Society students from Chatham Schools came on a bus and brought two of their service groups along with items that they purchased and had donated. They filled three tables of items. Some of the students thought to bring gently used toys with them and the smiles on the children’s faces as they received these was just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your kindness and your care with our community. They saw first hand the impact of a morning of giving can help the community so much. Future is bright with students like you!

We had Albany Medical College Anesthesiology students join us to take blood pressure and talk to our community about any health concerns they may have. This is a beautiful offering and we’re so grateful that they’re going to join us as they can at our community events.

Grateful for those that support us every month - the groups and the individuals who show up with smiles and care for every person who comes through the line.

Looking forward to seeing everybody under the bridge again on June 20th. We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary at this event. Five years of showing up, caring, loving, and being present with the community - this is no small accomplishment and it’s able to be celebrated because of all of you. 🐼💚
