Did you know that, for several years!, absolutely all of the trail maintenance and fence repairs on the gorge trail has been done by volunteers? ⚒️🪚💪Using NIP Grant funds awarded by the City of Troy!! 🙏🏻🏢 💰 So, in this season of gratitude, give a big shout out to our volunteers!! 👏👏👏

Did you know that students of RPI have been involved in surveying and studying the Poesten Kill Gorge as class projects since the school was founded? This photo from 1888 was taken when the university was still located in downtown Troy, and 54 years before it began admitting women! ❤️🌊🏞️ Please share and pass the gorge love on! .my

Good Morning Everyone!

We had a great turnout yesterday for our Earth Day cleanup event at the Poesten Kill Gorge Park! We removed multiple bags of garbage, cleared the trail of leaves and down branches and opened up more views of the falls!

We were happy to see people enjoying the new Adirondack chairs that were made by a member of our group and seeing people having picnics on the lawn! A sign of a great season ahead!

Stay tuned for updates on our Neighborhood Improvement Grant project in the month ahead!

Hey All! After a long winter, we are ready to get back out and clean up our park!

Our first major event of the year is our Annual Earth Day Clean Up event on April 16th! The cleanup will be from 1pm to 4pm at the park with tree and brush clearing, garbage pickup and graffiti removal.

We have also applied for a 2023 Troy Neighborhood Improvement Grant to do more landscaping, install a new entrance sign and possibly adding more signage along the trails!

Just as a reminder! Tomorrow, 09/16/2022, at noon is the next cleanup day at the Poesten Kill Gorge! We are working on multiple projects within the park!

There will be volunteers there early in the morning removing invasive vegatation and dead trees before the main work party begins at noon!
