As we celebrate Men’s Health Month, remember that taking care of your health means caring for both your mind and your body!

Simple steps like scheduling a checkup, talking about stress, seeking support for anxiety or depression, or making time for healthy habits can all lead to better health and well-being.

At Zepf Center, we’re here to support the whole person with mental health services, primary care, substance use treatment, recovery support, and more. To learn more, visit zepfcenter.org or call 419-841-7701.

Millions of Americans could be at risk of losing their health coverage under newly released Medicaid work reporting requirements.

While Congress recognized that people living with serious mental health conditions may need exemptions, the proposed rules create additional barriers that could make it harder for those with mental illness to access the care and treatment they need.

Now is the time to speak up! Click here to contact your members of Congress and urge them to take action ➡ https://nami.quorum.us/campaign/163909/

In May, we celebrated 10 years of our Safety Net Youth Shelter!

As we look back on the festivities, we're filled with gratitude for everyone who helped make the event such a success. It was a wonderful evening of connection, celebration, and community as we recognized a decade of providing hope, safety, and support to youth across Northwest Ohio.

Thank you to the many community partners who joined us, shared resources, and helped create a fun and welcoming experience for youth and families. We are especially grateful to the City of Toledo and Northwest Ohio Pathways Hub for their support in making this celebration possible.

For the past 10 years, Safety Net has helped hundreds of young people find stability, support, and a brighter path forward. Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping us continue this important work.

Take a look back at some of our favorite moments from the celebration!

Healing starts with understanding!

Our new I Can Heal group is designed for individuals who want to learn more about trauma, how it impacts their daily lives, and how to build a stronger foundation of safety and stability through the lens of the Sanctuary Model for trauma-informed care.

The group meets on Wednesdays at our Nebraska office and is open to adults with a mental health diagnosis who are interested in participating in a group setting.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a better understanding of trauma and its effects, please call 419-841-7701 to connect with our Adult Therapy team.

This month, we’re hosting a powerful discussion about mental health, stigma, and the importance of accessible care for everyone in our community.

Joined by Zepf Center’s Clinical Manager of Integrated Care, Melanie Martin Ebel, and Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Roach, we talk about the real barriers people face when seeking help, why early intervention matters, and how innovative programs like FIRST Episode Psychosis are changing lives through compassionate, whole-person care.

Tune in now and help us continue breaking the stigma around mental health one conversation at a time ➡ https://www.buzzsprout.com/2374501/episodes/19242999

As we wrap up our series for , this week’s focus is Paired Muscle Relaxation, a simple skill to help your body release stress and tension.

Try gently tensing a muscle group as you inhale, then fully relaxing it as you exhale. This tense-and-release technique can help calm your body and create a greater sense of relaxation.

A special thank you to our Adult Therapy Team for sharing these helpful coping skills throughout the month and for the compassionate support they provide to our community every day! If you or someone you know could benefit from therapy or mental health support, call 419-841-7701 to connect with our trauma-informed team and learn more about Zepf Center's services.
