For the past 8 years, the Toledo Buffalo Soldiers' Post have sponsored young people from Ella P Stewart Academy for Girls, MLK Academy for Boys and other community young people to the annual Harlum Globetrotters event at the Huntington Center. Yesterday we sponsored 66 young people, to include their chaperones and young people from three other neighbor families to the event. This year, what makes this event so special is; "it's their 100th Anniversary!" One of our kids, with two Toledo Post's members, we're able to be seated at courtside during the game too. What a total exciting experience. This event is the final phase of our 2025 Christmas Angel Tree Wish operation.
A very special appreciation and thanks to S&G Store #99, for selecting the Toledo Buffalo Soldiers' Post as a 2nd year recipient of their 2025, "Day of Thanks and Giving," Award. This award assisted in making the Globetrotters' event possible for so many kids. We were able to purchase standard game tickets plus premium add-on Magic Passes, which are pre-game on-court fun passes that provided interaction with the celebrity players, and a meal for each child. What an exciting and excellent time, which will be remembered by the kids.
