Are there any age or weight restrictions for participating?
Participants must weigh between 100 and 300 pounds to safely rappel. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver during check-in. Other than that โ anyone can go Over the Edge!

How long does the experience take?
From check-in to landing, the full experience typically lasts about 60โ90 minutes.
Your experience includes:
Event check-in
Gear fitting
Safety training
Your rappel down the building
Photos and gear removal
Many participants and guests stay before or after their rappel to enjoy the excitement of the event. There will be plenty to see, cheer for, and celebrate throughout the day!
What should I wear?
Participants must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or hiking boots.
All rappelling equipment โ including helmets, gloves, harnesses, and safety gear โ will be provided. We encourage you to show your support by wearing your team shirt or your official Over the Edge for Victory T-shirt.
For safety reasons:
All pockets must be completely empty before gearing up
Loose items must be secured
Cell phones, wallets, keys, and other items cannot be carried during the rappel
Do I need any training or experience?
Not at all! No prior rappelling experience or special training is required. Our expert team will guide you through everything you need to know before you step over the edge.
Is the event safe?
Absolutely. OTEGlobal follows strict national and state OSHA safety standards and works with SPRAT and/or IRATA-certified industrial rope access technicians.
Over the Edge has safely helped thousands of participants rappel at events around the world, and safety is always the top priority.
What happens if it rains?
This event can typically operate safely in light rain. However, if weather conditions such as lightning, heavy rain, or high winds become unsafe, the event may be temporarily delayed until conditions improve and event personnel determine it is safe to continue.
How do I know what time I will rappel?
First, register online and begin fundraising toward the $1,000 minimum fundraising requirement.
Once you have reached the minimum, a member of our staff will contact you to schedule your rappel time between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on event day. Time slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The sooner you hit your required $1,000 fundraising minimum, the sooner you get to select your time slot.
Can friends and family attend?
Absolutely! Friends and family are encouraged to attend and cheer you on. Spectators make the day even more exciting. We even have a prize for the participant with the biggest crowd!
Please note: Only registered rappellers and authorized event staff will be permitted inside the building and on the rooftop.
What if I donโt raise the full $1,000 minimum?
We are committed to helping every participant succeed and will support you throughout your fundraising journey with tips, tools, and ideas.
If you do not reach the minimum fundraising requirement, you may choose to pay the remaining balance personally in order to secure your rappel spot.
Please note that all registration fees and donations are non-refundable. Every dollar raised directly supports local cancer patients and families through the free programs and services offered by .
Can I use a GoPro during my rappel?
Participants who raise at least $1,500 will receive a professionally mounted GoPro camera on their helmet during the rappel. Afterward, youโll receive your video footage to relive and share your experience!
For safety reasons, personal GoPro cameras or self-mounted recording devices are not permitted. Friends and family are welcome to record and photograph your rappel from the ground.
Where do the donations go?
Every dollar raised stays right here in our community.
The Victory Center is a local nonprofit organization that is entirely privately funded and does not receive government funding or health insurance reimbursements.
Funds raised through Over the Edge for Victory help provide programs and services for cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones FREE-OF-CHARGE.
