The Florida Comets student athletes are volunteering with young children at SPACE COAST STEP BY STEP EARLY LEARNING CENTER Daycare at 3155 South Street.

This used to be Life Church of Titusville, but now is the new SPACE COAST STEP BY STEP EARLY LEARNING CENTER.

The student athletes are volunteering Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays (10a-11a).

If there is a facility(s) that would appreciate the student athletes of Florida Comets to volunteer, please contact me.

They can volunteer more than with children, senior citizens, pets & animals, stores, companies, businesses, etc., please contact Dr. Bennie Shaw, 772-828-6369; [email protected]

The stage was big & bright that we could not handle the spotlights early on. The student athletes was so impressed with the Expo Center and the number of elite teams playing next to us on the next basketball court. They wanted to spend more time watching the national rank basketball teams play than playing their own basketball games.

The decision making, skills and fundamentals of those basketball players allowed them to see that we have a long way to go if that is our goal.

“DECISION MAKING” is a very important component of being a basketball player, because there are decisions in every aspect of the game.
RELATE THAT TO LIFE, your decisions either make you or break you.

I am so proud and impressed that the young ladies are able to articulate what they were watching and believe with hard work they can achieve the same level of basketball maturity.

We were able to overcome the shock and settle down after our first two losses and win our last two basketball games for 3rd place in pool. We played the 3rd place team from the other pool and we won against a very good basketball team. We played solid defense and protected the basketball in crucial situations which is a major improvement.

No time to rest, we are up next weekend at Disney for the Disney Memorial Day Classic, May 23-25.

Congratulations for a job well done, hopefully we can continue to grow as we travel around the United States playing against different basketball teams from around the country.

Florida Comets, 15 years ago. I can’t believe that all these beautiful ladies still looks the same. All these student athletes have become productive citizens after their high school, military, and college experiences.

I am so honored that you allowed me to serve you and assist you in preparing you for life endeavors after basketball.

Florida Comets Gold 16U; “On The Road Again”, one of my favorite songs by Kenny Nelson.

If you are a basketball fan and you like good basketball, it was some great basketball being played by some outstanding females at “The Big House”; sponsored by Dynasty Hoops this weekend.

Florida Comets gave themselves a chance to win in each game, lost by 6; lost by 2; lost by 4: but if you are a coach and you are playing 3 grades up and these young ladies are holding their own; but most impressive is the games are coming down to the wire: this is a great way to teach them how to play the mental part of basketball, as well as the stress that comes with being under pressure to step up and perform.

I am so proud of our efforts this weekend, we played extremely hard and never gave up. That is what I ask for from my little babies.
