We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We also want to share a big thank you to our sponsors and participants for the 2022 Hunt for Red Fishers Tournament.

We had some obstacles to overcome with 2 major hurricanes that impacted our state. Our continued prayers for the communities, friends, and people that are still collecting the pieces and rebuilding their lives.

We will be announcing our winners and a banquet for the 2022 season after the 1st of the year. Happy New Year, and tight lines!

Our first anglers are on their way to continue catching fish and share the message of hope helping others.

Format changes are due to an unprecedented Hurricane Ian that hit our state of Florida. With this proceeds are still going to C.R.E.W. 29 & Walkabout Recovery, with an added layer going to support Florida Recovery through stickers by our beloved artist and friend Ohana Creations by Courtney Marie Martin

Grateful for how our community engages those around us.

If you didn't already register for the tournament, there's still time to compete. Now with more opportunities, classes, and divsions with a simpler way of participation. Adult Male & Female and 15 & younger Youth Male & Female divsions, with categories for most Redfish, Snook, Tarpon & Trout. If you catch non gamefish species submit those to our socials for a special category.

Get signed up online. Registration ensures you're signed up to get your token. Then go and grab your buddy, gear and you're ready to start sharing fish stories and photos.

Remember all entries must be submitted online to [email protected] put the words "Entry" in the subject line. Also go to Facebook and Instagram and tag us.

So far we only have 1 paid registered angler for the tournament. We also have a couple orders for tournament hooded shirts.

This is our first year doing this, adding Hurricane Ian to the mix, we have been presented some challenges and opportunties.

If you would take a minute and please consider sharing some feedback. Let's see if we can figure out what we're missing?

Currently we are contemplating moving things to a virtual tournament following the Live Captain's Meeting this Friday October 21, and extending virtually until December 24, 2022. Moving to a "take-a-buddy" format. Where you would have to take a photo with a buddy and the tournament token with your fish in the photograph. That fish would count as 1 fish for each "registered angler" in the photograph.

Requirements:
Purchase registration to obtain your Tournament Token. Photos would need to be electronically submitted to the Hunt for Red Fishers email, and shared to the Facebook and Instagram tagging the At the end of the season/tournament - awards will be presented to the single angler who caught the most fish in each category. Men's/Women's - Young Men's/Young Women's - Redfish, Trout, Snook, Tarpon.

The token currently has an additional function to serve at area restaurants and establishments, present once per visit for a free beverage, desert, or appetizer with meal purchase. Good until September 31, 2023.

We are moving the tournament to our contingency "Hurricane Back Up Dates"

The new dates will be as published in the Tournament Rules for a Hurricane Event.
October 21 - 23, 2022.

The Captain's Meeting will be Friday October 21, 2022 6 - 8 pm at the Titusville Civic Center. With fishing Saturday & Sunday, and nightly meals, check ins, and updates 6 - 8 pm

There will be some additional categories and greater opportunities to participate for those who have already made plans or scheduled time to attend this weekend. Please follow, share and watch the event page for that information.

We will be publishing a revision to all channels by this Friday October 7, 2022 to include those new details and opportunities.

Thank you for supporting our mission partners. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the water soon!

In the wake of Hurricane Ian, we want to provide an update on the Tournament. We are currently coordinating and working with our local community partners to see what the plan will be.

At this time logistically it is uncertain if the physical tournament will be feasible or not. If we are unable to host a physical tournament for the dates next weekend October 7, 8, 9, 2022 or with the backup dates 2 weeks following, we may explore an alternate option.

The Tournament fishing region is inshore from Ponce Inlet to Sebastian Inlet. However due to accessible ramps and boat launches it may be a challenge. It is open to all manner of legal fishing, however we want to encourage safe and responsible opportunities for all interested parties.

Additionally as a region we are working to help those repair, rebuild, and restore what was lost and damaged in the storm. If you are local and able bodied wishing to assist please reach out and we can help direct efforts to needs as they are abundant at this time. We are East Central Florida, however the West Coast of Florida is home to many friends and partners and they are hardest hit at this time. Please lift up prayers if nothing else as they will need all the help available. 🙏💜

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you out on the water. Whenever that may be. Stay tuned, check back regularly, and please share with your friends.

Hope and pray everyone weathered Ian safely.

Spending time appreciating our community and family.

Reach out to those around you to see who needs help. Helping another we often realize that it helps us more in the end. We could all use a helping hand sometimes.

Wanted to share a really incredible piece of art we are going to have to raffle off at the tournament.

Thank you to Casey Males, an awesomely talented artist, for this piece. Please visit his page to see more of his artwork. He has many fish pieces available on his etsy page.

The website is updated and we have some additional tournament sponsors we wish to thank!

A big thank you to Captain Hooks Bait & Tackle & BT's Welding. They have partnered with us for this years tournament. Please support them with your fishing and boating needs.

Also please be sure to register early so we can get a good head count for food. Currently we have some Pitmasters preparing menus and food to have available for a small donation each evening.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2.5 weeks at the Captain's Meeting!
