Silver Spurs Show
Sept 20, 2026 is canceled.

This decision was not made lightly. We have carefully watched the conditions, reviewed multiple weather forecasts, and considered every option available to us. Unfortunately, the field and ring area are already saturated, and with additional precipitation expected, we simply cannot put the footing, horses, riders, or everyone’s safety at risk.
As difficult as it is to cancel, we know that making the responsible decision now is the right thing to do under these circumstances. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, disappointment, and disruption this may cause, especially to those who have spent so much time preparing.
Thank you for your understanding.
Help us spread the word so that everyone has an opportunity to receive the cancellation notice.

An update to Clover Awards

An update to Clover Awards

We'd like to feature one more 4-H opportunity that all members 4-H age 8-18 can get involved with! The 4-H Clover Awards are a great opportunity because it allows 4-H members to reflect on everything they have accomplished in their clubs, including volunteer work, fundraising, and participation in local and state events. I completed all of my Clover Awards in 2023 and then began working on my Diamond Clover Award. The process encouraged me to become even more involved in 4-H and attend new opportunities, including state events I had never experienced before. Although it required a lot of time and effort, it was something I truly enjoyed and found very rewarding. I would strongly encourage others to pursue the Clover Awards, especially the Diamond Clover Award. Getting to choose a project you are passionate about makes the experience meaningful and worthwhile, and it can also provide meaningful opportunities such as attending the State Leadership Conference.

For those who want to try something new.

Our 4-H Make and Take Workshop series is returning in 2026 and this year we are excited to be focusing on making items with animal products and animal by-products from sheep, goats, and cattle. The first workshop will focus on Fudge Making and Wet Felting and will take place on Saturday, February 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Penn State Extension Office - 16871 Craig Rd, Saegertown, PA 16433. The registration link for this workshop is https://4h.zsuite.org/event-registrations/44307 Registration will close 2 weeks prior to the workshop on February 7th. (In the event of inclement weather, a rescheduling notice will be emailed no later than the day before the workshop date and the workshop will be rescheduled for the following Saturday.)

The workshops are open to all Crawford County 4-H members ages 8 to 18 as of January 1, 2026. A different family living and non-animal project area will be focused on each month of the workshop series, but you do not need to be enrolled in these projects to attend. We want to teach any interested 4-H members about a variety of skills!

Workshop space is limited, so get registered quickly before the slots are filled. The workshop is capped at 20 participants. There is no cost to attend and everything needed will be provided.
