I attended a “sold out” tea & tour at the Pritchard House today featuring our very own Carol Petersen….a.k.a Betsy Ross. She told the attendees about her membership with the Pilot Club and her involvement on the City of Titusville Flag & Memorial Committee before telling, as Betsy, about her life and how she came to help design and sew our first flag. This was a promotion in preparation for the semiquincentennial celebration. Carol did a fabulous job.

A little history on when and how Pilot Club of Titusville became involved. On May 4, 2016, while Carol Pedersen was President, a motion was made to commit to a donation of $5,000 to be raised during the 2016-2017 year for the new Splash Park that was being built. Our club did a fundraiser on November 10, 2016… Splish Splash Wine Glass Painting....maybe some of you were there! President Robin Porta honored our commitment, and a check was presented to the City of Titusville City Council at their meeting in November 2016.

Pilot Club of Titusville members remembered the fallen soldiers this morning by attending two Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Brevard Veterans Cemetery and the Veterans Memorial Park here in Titusville. President, Jonda Erwin was honored to lay a Memorial Wreath in remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
“Land of the free because of the brave”.

Pilot Club of Titusville held their Awards Luncheon today and gave away almost $16,000 that we earned this year through our fundraisers. This was 10 Mini-Grants and the proceeds from our Fashion Show. It is the favorite meeting of the year!

Pilot Club of Titusville did a Pick-Me-Up for the school bus drivers…Donuts, coffee, and tea. We spoke with drivers who had been driving for 25 years as well as a lady who was in training. Thank you to Cyndi DiFruscio for applying for the grant from Pilot international. Each were given a cute little school bus pin as a “thank you”. It was a great morning!

Macy’s Merritt Island hosted a Sip and Shop this morning for Pilot Club of Titusville members. They were given a discount on all purchases. Macy’s provided the fashions for our Annual Pretty Woman Fashion Show held in March.
