Simmesport, LA
DRT is working with the Pineville Church of Christ to help the hundreds of families that were recently affected by the flooding from Tropical Storm Arthur. The Pineville church of Christ is about 60 miles away and there is no Church of Christ in Simmesport so we are in the process of securing a location to base out of and to house volunteers. We will update as soon as we have more info.
Please keep these families in your prayers.

After being in the hospital going on 2 weeks Mark is finally coming home today! He feels good, the echocardiogram showed no damage to his heart, he is no longer in AFib and the antibiotics are working to get rid of the infection. Thank you God and we thank all of you for your prayers!!

I am asking for your prayers. We don’t typically put our health concerns or personal things “out there” but we know the power of prayer.
Mark went to the ER a week ago Friday with 2 large kidney stones. They did laser surgery Tuesday as well as some work on his prostate. Since then he’s had trouble with bleeding and pain. This morning everything seemed so much better, the bleeding had stopped, they took the catheter out and planned to send him home tonight. A couple of hours after they took the catheter out he developed a fever of 102°. They are now doing blood and urine cultures which will take 24-48 hours to come back. Until then they are using sepsis protocols and giving him antibiotics and fluids by IV. I am praying it isn’t sepsis and so thankful for a God we can call out to in times like this. We covet your prayers.
In Christ,
Laura
