Our 5th and 6th grade LifeWise students had an amazing time visiting the Ark Encounter today! What a fun and meaningful way to celebrate the end of our school year together.

We are so grateful to Tipp City Global Methodist Church for making this special experience possible through their generosity and support. Our students created wonderful memories enjoying an unforgettable day of learning.

Last week Bethel LifeWise jumped into the book of Revelation! We learned that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Living One. It was awesome to talk about how we can trust that Jesus is coming again (like He promised) and will make everything new, because He came the first time (like He promised) to rescue us from sin and death! A bell race review was also a fun way to enjoy our time together!

Student have returned from Spring Break and students learned about the Great Commission and Ascension of Jesus after he rolled away the stone. They learned about Jesus walking the earth for 40 days and asking his followers to spread the gospel to the world and then he ascended to the clouds. This was the wk of April 6th through the 10th and then students did a game of using cotton balls that are like clouds and trying to get as many as they can in cups.

This wk students learned about the Holy Spirit. This was a very important lesson, because Jesus promised us a Helper when he ascended into Heaven and it was the Holy Spirit. Students read in the Bible about how the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles during Pentecost with a strong 💨wind. Then students had to take marshmallows and a straw and create a strong wind and whoever got their marshmallow across the tape line first won!!

Last week Bethel LifeWise students enjoyed learning about another Old Testament prophet in the book of Joel as well as some important attributes of God! "He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and He relents from sending disaster." -Joel 2:13b
We also had fun with an active game of "locust tag!" This week is our special Easter lesson, we will be celebrating God's amazing goodness to us in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Stay tuned!!

Bethel Lifewise has continued learning about the Old Testament Prophets. We recently learned about Jonah and read in the Bible about God asking Jonah give the prophecies to the city of Nineveh and bring their hearts back to God! The character quality was on compassion and how compassion is putting love to work. The memory verse was from Joel 2:13.

Students spoke on ways to be compassionate and one student gave an example of giving Bible scriptures to elderly neighbors & to people they meet to help spread the love and compassion of God’s word!! Students did a race into whale tents to fish out the review questions and answers, and then put the right answer to the questions!!

We are going to be doing Joel, the Prophet of Judah next wk and then the wk of March 23rd/ March 27th we are doing our special Easter lesson.

We will do an interactive stations of the cross and read the Easter story with students for this lesson and be having pizza for lunch provided by our director, Mandy!! We welcome parents to email Mandy and come volunteer for the wk of March 23rd/ March 27th. I know things get busy, however, please remember the importance of Jesus dying on the cross and we love to have all our students there to hear about Jesus’s victory on the cross & saving us from our sins. If you can volunteer and make sure your student joins us for the wk of March 23rd/27th we would appreciate it

This week our Bethel LifeWise students are learning about the prophet Isaiah and the character quality he demonstrated of "availability" when he said "Here I am, send me!" (Isaiah 6:8) We learned about how God spoke through Isaiah about the coming "Suffering Servant" who would be "pierced for our transgressions.. crushed for our iniquities... and by his wounds we are healed." We learned that Jesus is the fulfillment of this amazing prophecy that God spoke of through Isaiah 700 years before the birth of Christ! We also enjoyed some fun relay races with "hot coal" (see Isaiah 6:6) What a joy to learn about the love of God in Christ!

Happy Monday Bethel Lifewise!!

Students in the elementary grades just learned about Elisha and Naaman and the awesome healing power of God in 2 Kings 5 in the Bible! Students character quality for this lesson was forgiveness and how Jesus forgives us of our sins and the awesome healing power that can happen when we are forgiven and forgive others! They also did an activity, ‘Jumping the Jordan’ and our Lifewise teacher had students popping ballons in the Jordan River activity & they had a lot fun doing this activity & seeing their teacher’s popping power🤣🤣!!!

The 5th and 6th grade students were out of Lifewise on for a couple Fridays and we returned to learn about Elisha Confronting King Ahab! We have learned about prophets and Elisha being a great prophet and also about idol worshiping. Students built an altar in a race and got to knock it down and talk about what might be an idol in our life and how God wants us to always worship him first! Loyalty was the character quality for this lesson!!

Happy Sunday and blessings to you all during these winter months!! Bethel Lifewise started learning about the prophet Elijah in February.

Classes have been learning about other prophets this year and everything points to the greatest Prophet of all, Jesus! They learned about idols and did an activity racing to build an altar and then putting an idol on top (like a bag of money) and knocking the idol down!!! They enjoyed knocking down the idol's worship altar and being reminded that Jesus is the only God we worship in our lives!!

Here is an update on Bethel Lifewise classes! We were off for Christmas and also had some snow days in January, here are the lessons we did this month!

*** We did a trust and obedience activity when learning about King Saul. King Saul didn’t obey like God asked and then students had to trust and obey their leader while being blindfolded to find the team’s cups!

***Students got to see how good of a shepherd they are because David was a shepherd first with an activity called sn**ch the sheep. They had to protect their 🐑 and try to get other students’ sheep with a spoon from their chairs☺️! It was a lot of fun!

*** Then students learned about Job and we created a whirlwind with bottles & some students enjoyed making their own! You can add glitter or monopoly homes to the bottles or little toys to add some fun if you like to try this at home with kids. We learned God spoke to Job through a whirlwind and got to read about God’s awesome power in this book in the Bible!!!
