New Path Outreach "For I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink...." Mathew 25:35 If you would like to donate to New Path, we have multiple options.

New Path is a Non-profit 501C3, we serve families in the Miami County of Ohio in many ways. We began as a food pantry at Ginghamsburg Church and through hearing the struggles families were facing different ideas began popping up, one gentleman started a furniture ministry and began helping families they heard of that needed furnishings and taking in donations of furniture from neighbors and church members. Jim Sitzman started helping people with Car Repairs, and the church received donations of cars, he would repair them and give them to other church members who had need of a vehicle. A Clothing Closet was created to provide clothing to families in emergency situations. In the year 2000, all these independently ministries were placed under the umbrella of this new non-profit called The New Path Inc. Through the last 17 years each program has grown, changed and created better programing to help struggling families through development programing. New Path currently has ten different programs to help nurture and develop people to equip them for a better opportunity to thrive not just survive. New Path's programs serve all Miami County residents and 3 Zip Codes in Montgomery county as they try to extend their services and resources, as the organization grows in support we expand to include more opportunities and more of the local area of Miami Valley. Open Table Dinner is Monday night, we invite you to bring your family for dinner. We will no longer be offering to-go meals, because our meals are meant to be enjoyed in community. There is no shame in coming for dinner, a lot of folks come just for the community around them, and that's what we're about. If we get full, we'll set up more tables & chairs!

Tomorrow dinner is served at 5:30 pm and we'll be serving up some Spaghetti topped with Chili & cheese, onions on the side- if you don't want cheese just let us know! We will also be serving garlic bread, sliced apples with caramel dip and a cookie. (might not be chocolate chips as we have a variety)

We enjoy serving you while wait for the food pantry to open, don't need groceries? You're always welcome for dinner!

October 17th is National Pasta Day, a great excuse to carb-load and celebrate one of the world's most loved foods. While we find noodles all over the world, pasta is a type of noodle of traditional Italian cuisine. The first reference dates to 1154 in Sicily and was first attested to in English in 1874. Typically, it is made from an unleavened dough of durum wheat flour. The flour is mixed with water or eggs and formed into sheets or various shapes. It can be prepaired fresh or dry.
Cooks originally made fresh pasta by hand. However, today, many varieties of fresh pasta are made commercially. Large-scale machines bring choices to our grocers daily. There are so many kinds of pasta! According to the "Encyclopedia of Pasta" by Oretta Zanini De Vita, 310 specific kinds of pasta identified by over 1300 names have been documented.
In Italy, names of specific pasta shapes or types vary with locale.
Example: Cavatelli is known by 28 different names depending on the region and town
Incrediable right!
Did you know the United States consumes approximately 5.95 billion pounds of pasta each year. That's roughly 20 pounds of pasta per person each year. About 86% of Americans eat pasta at least once a week.
Pasta comes in a variety of shapes making it perfect for soups, salads and dinner! There are many sauces available in the grocery store as well. Spaghetti sauce is probably the most common. There is no single exact number of pasta sauces, as classic Italian and international cuisines feature over 20 to 26 core traditional varieties, while regional variations and global fusions add dozens more. New sauces to coat your pasta are being created all the time.
Did you know that American Italians refer to the red tomato sauce as "gravy"? Over generations, particularly between the 1930s and 1950s, using the word "Sunday gravy" became a badge of pride and a distinct pillar of Italian-American culture, setting their diaspora traditions apart from modern Italy.

Celebrate National Pasta Day by donating some pasta to a local food pantry. (pick us-pick us πŸ™‹β€β™‚) Instead of Straight Spaghetti, find a shape you can use in a soup!
Pasta can stretch a simple soup to feed an army!
